From Chicago Tribune Hamilton Twitter:

Matt Barkley on friend Jimmy Clausen: "I think he's awesome regardless of what people say about his attitude."

More Barkley on Clausen via LATimes "He's a great competitor but...he'll get a little taste of what our defense is all about next weekend."

wow, I honestly hope Weis puts this up on everybody's locker...ESPECIALLY the defense

I was under the impression that coaches instruct their players not to run their mouth off on anyone...(this applies to UDub players as well)

This isn't surprising hearing this. He's only a freshman but yet he acts like he's invincible. I hope someone gets a couple good clean vicious shots on him...or just beat SC with no shots on him. That'll work too, yea.

I wonder what he'll have to say about the Trojans second loss of the season?

I hope those quotes are pasted on every seat in the stadium so fans are even motivated to stand and make noise. What a punk and what a freshman mistake!

he acts like he's been the starting quarterback for 3 years. what a punk. i've heard him interview before and he needs a little humility. please god, let us kick their ass.............

I agree with this but its a 18 year old kid that is the first freshmen QB to start AND on a Pete Carroll USC team. What did Jimmy do before he won a game on the college level??? Just saying... it is USC so I hope the Irish teach him a lesson but its still a 18 year old kid who has been probably told that he is the best thing since sliced bread for the last five years... and starting at SC doesn't help bring him down to earth.

I hope Manti introduces him to the turf at ND stadium. I also would like to see KMac put a big hit on Rojo to see how that shoulder is treating him

totally agree........jimmy got humbled real quick and it was good for him. this boy needs some of the same..................

Not really sure what the big deal is here... He wasn't suggesting that JC has an attitude problem, rather just referring to what people write about his friend. You know the one who showed up at the HOF with rings blazing and promises being made?

As far as the defensive comments go, if I had that defense I'd say the same thing... This isn't the PC Irish, where everything is run through a filter and then dissected, spewed out as holier than thou with the utmost respect and class. This is college football. And BB material hasn't seemed to work for the Irish in the past. Remember Mike Hart's guarantee? Let's just focus on our own deficiencies instead of deflecting to a freshman QB saying it like it is...

I must admit, I do not like this kid's attitude AT ALL. The press conference after the osu game was just insulting. he mentioned how they were "unstoppable" in a game where they failed to regularly move the ball or score a ton of points. And i bet if i heard him actually say this quote it would have enraged me. but the words themselves in this care are not that bad at all. this will be great motivation for our offensive line as well as our running backs and our WRs....if shaq evans has a great few weeks of practice and a great game then i think the irish will be a much better team.

i seriously hope NDs defense just pounds him. i wonder if NDs defense can confuse him with all their blitz packages or not.

Seeing as our blitz packages confuse us? :)

Confused as in "They're sending so many guys from so many different spots, how come none of them ever get to me?"? That kind of confused?

LOL! now im confused. :)

:) It's funny that you very RARELY EVER hear an older QB shooting his mouth off about opponents! I just chuckle when freshman QB's do this stuff. They just don't realize that the majority of D-1 defensive guys want to destroy QB's without this motivation. This is what gets guys hurt. A lot of times their own O-lines will just step to the side to let the freshman know that it is a TEAM sport. :) I've seen it. It only takes ONE good hit before the humble pie tatstes good!

A dose of humility is an understatement.

This kid has been worshipped and glorified for the last several years in Southern California.

I hope he gets the crap kicked out of him.

Please oh please let one nasty Manti blitz hit home!!
