The best all-around overall player we have. Period. Maybe the best in the country.

NO way Tate is even close to Floyd in terms of red zone threat... I know that we are still soaking up an amazing game by Golden (deservedly so) but lets be objective... Floyd was our best red zone playermaker by far.

A couple things.

First, "was." That's critical here: coulda, shoulda, woulda does not get it done. We did not have Floyd for the critical middle of the schedule last year, he wasn't there for the end of the Michigan game, and we've lost him for the vast majority of this season. He simply is not a playmaker of any kind when he is standing on the sideline without a uniform.

Second, I do not recall Floyd making a lot of plays when we were first and goal. A couple maybe, but so has Tate. It is hard for any receiver to be extremely effective when the field gets shrunk down to a forty by twenty yard war zone. Also, Coach Weis chose not to go with the corner of the end zone play except for a couple tosses to Rudolph.

Uhh... ok obviously Floyd isnt here. Of course it is critical that Golden is here but that doesnt diminish my argument in the least. Im just stating he was better in the red zone than Golden. Quick passes or fades to Floyd against small corners are whats missing right now.

I've got a karaoke mic with my name on it waiting for me, so I have to go.

But I want to leave you with this thought. We've seen Tate perform without Floyd. How do you think Floyd would handle not having Tate -- the double teams, and the defense designed around stopping him?

It's all academic anyway, but fun to argue about. I just wish both of them were out there for a full season. Wonder if we have Tate for another year...

We'll have #23 for another year. I love MF and I sure do love watching Golden perform.

I think Rudolph is going to be the new floyd in goal line situations. He is becoming that already. It was brilliant to split him out like that. Almost as hard to match up against as Floyd was/is.
