Today, he simply put up the production of both himself and Mike Floyd, combined. Having Floyd out there would not have ultimately changed a thing the way Tate played this week.

I agree he is one of the top receivers out there. Only I think Floyd is the best. Guy is unstoppable when the ball is in the air. Jimmy can put it anywhere and Floyd can out rebound everyone for it. And he has more dependable hands than Golden.

But Golden was a man among boys tonight, however I think USC has the athletes to stop him from breaking 70 yard slants.

Dang, I should have titled this thread "Golden's Precious Meddle." How did you like that flip?

Tate is fast, dangerous after the catch, impossible to bring down, versatile enough to play just about anywhere on the field and be our punt returner, and he is tough. Tough as in durable. 'Nough said.

I saw Golden get flipped 2-lakes and when he hit the turf I thought he couldn't walk away but he just hops up. He may feel that in the morning but not then.

i said in a nother thread hes lucky he didnt land on his head

Golden is our Jeremy Maclin(from Missouri). I was so happy to see CW use him in other areas, even though it was more of a result from Floyd getting hurt. This kid can flat out play, and the fact that he was a RB in HS makes him that much more versatile. I glad to see him lining up all over the field ala Percy Harvin, Jeremy Maclin, etc. He can be a play maker. This week he did a great job, and IMO did less flaunting of what he could do and instead just did it, unlike some of our previous games.

Golden had an amazing game. Golden can do alot. But he sure can't score in the red zone. I think this team is struggling without floyd in the red zone. The coaches really need to figure this out for SC. 0 for 5 in the red zone ain't gonna cut it in two weeks.

Yeah, SJ, the flip, the dive into the MSU band. Not too smart, but... it does prove how durable he is. Some guys just know how to fall. And how often do you see three or four defenders trying to knock him off of his feet and failing? Great balance. He had 244 yards and a TD (almost two), plus I know he gained fifteen or so on an end around/reverse thingy at the beginning of the game. Anyone see a stat on his total yardage?

Agree, Golden is GREAT but we need to find a red zone answer without floyd. Maybe try a few more runs with hughes instead of passes? Without floyd in there the red zone passing game seems limited and with hughes running like he is why not use him more down there.

Something needs to be done though because if we settle for fg's in 2 weeks we'll be in serious trouble.

i hope somebody got a picture of tate's flip, i want that to be my new wall paper at work

i guess Chris Fowler new something special was going to happen..picked him as his game changer on gameday

I disagree with the idea that Tate is not a red zone threat. Jimmy only went to him once, and that one time if Tate had cut in I think it would have been six -- hard to say if that was a bad route or the play was designed for him to sit down in that area. I've seen Golden outjump a lot of defenders, and DB's are not that tall. You've got Rudolph, Hughes, and Tate as weapons down there, and they were just not properly employed today.

NO way Tate is even close to Floyd in terms of red zone threat... I know that we are still soaking up an amazing game by Golden (deservedly so) but lets be objective... Floyd was our best red zone playermaker by far.

I dont think anyone is saying that tate isnt a red zone threat at all i think that at least in my opinion I was just saying he isnt anything close to floyd in terms of being a red zone threat. Hes a good red zone threat, hes just not floyd
