I was listening to our local ESPN affiliate here in L.A. lst night at around 11:30 p.m. our time.

I'm pretty sure it's a national broadcast at that time of night, but I don't know who the two guys are on that show. Probably a replay that late too.

Β

The one guy started going over Heisman candidates and mostly QB play at this point.

Β

He spent 20 to 30 seconds on most guys, but when he came to Jimmy, he gushed for a couple of minutes.

He talked about how he loves his ability, and how it's second to none right now. He says his mechanics and release are practically flawless, and he was so impressed by the heart Jimmy has shown in the two come from behind victories, especially with his injured toe.

Β

He also said that Jimmy will not be at ND next year and that he will be a top 10 pick!

Β

So the question is, does anybody think JC is gone, especially considering the NFL rookie cap that's coming into play?

Β

Or does JC stick around to try to win a title and be the #1 QB taken, and quite possibly the #1 overall pick?

Β

I know it's early in the season, but I think he will only get better, assuming his toe doesn't screw with him all season.

Β

Thoughts?

The more and more I think about it the more and more I think he's gone. Unless, Bradford and McCoy tear it up and are projected as first rounders I think he's gone. He's as old as most seniors already, to top it off I think the NFL is putting some new rule in about capping how much rookies can make next year. Just doesn't look good.

Β

If, by some miracle we keep him, thinking about this offence next year makes me want to cry.

I for one thinks he stays. Unless he is projected in the top ten I can't see why not. Who is in next years class?

couple things: if he can put up the kinda numbers he did so far w/o Floyd then i think he's gone (no offense to the other receivers of course)

-beating sc and winning a big bowl (bcs or cotton or something like that) would also surely help his draft rating

Β

saying that, i wouldn't be surprised if he stayed to try an take his game and ND to the next level.

if JC leaves next year then that puts DC as the starter but who's his back up, most likely one of the incomming freshmen. yikes.

does golden tate come back for his senior year?

does golden tate come back for his senior year?

Β

I would say yes......

Sanchez and Stafford-- seemed to have made the right decision--- lienhart--bradford and quinn-- apparently did not--- unfortunately that is what it is!

I really thought he would stick around.....but it just seems like everyone (including CW) are expecting him to go pro.

Β

Jimmy came to ND with the hopes of winning a NC and being a top draft pick. If he stays at ND, he will be one of the Heisman favorites and will have a real shot at making a run for the NC and the #1 overall pick in the draft.....but that choice could ultimately cost him millions with the rookie cap.

Β

I guess it just comes down to what Jimmy values the most....and only he and his family will know that.

I believe Jimmy will come back for what will be the best year in his life. Pro football is

not fun. Jimmy will be financially secure no matter what. Once you have your first

ten million why worry.

if he stays healthy, he's gone.

I think there's an alarming statistic, that something to the tune of 75 - 80% of all professional athletes end up in a crazy amount of debt...even with all those millions.

Β

Get your degree Jimmy! come back for your senior year =)

If he keeps having the type of season he is having and leads us to a win over USC and a big bowl win, I think he goes. This isn't a skinny, unpolished freshman we're watching anymore. This kid is getting bigger, stronger, smarter, and better right before our eyes. No, he'll probably never live up to the enormous recruiting hype he received, but who really does? Just take a look at Terrelle Pryor. And Jimmy has been and will be much better than Pryor. I've told my friends that I think his stock is getting stronger every week and they tend to be lukewarm to his pro prospects, but I think thats the ND bias coming into play.

Unless Bradford and Tebow just blow away scouts and Jimmy doesn't think he'll be a first round lock, he's most likely gone. But I agree, him back next year with Floyd, Tate, Allen, and Rudolph makes me giddy. Please, give us one more year together and a shot at a title run.

jimmy's very good right now but im not worried about him leaving just yet. yes he's proven he's tough because he might be injury prone. he's slow as molassas, and i've yet to see him make passes over the middle of the field consistently. everything is a lazer to the sidelines or a bomb. i don't think he's a complete player yet.

Β

that being said, i don't like waht happened to BQ between his junior and senior year. he became almost completely a check down QB instead of airing it out like he did all year the year before (yes he was very sucessful with it but it looked like he got a lil gunshy).

Β

I think that has carried over to him now, becoming the next Steve McNair, but without a good team behind him and a shitty coach. I don't want to see that happen to Jimmy.

Β

Luckily he'll have Floyd next year and you can always feel confident airing it out to him (or Tate really).

No big problem or worry, Jimmy is coming back all else is smoke screen and hater statements to make fans worried.

If Cleveland has the number 1 pick, he needs to stay far away from the NFL.

Mangini is garbage.

i would love to have him in Nashville..Collins is old and Vince is Garbage...HE would be just what we need...
