We aren't as good on offense with all the injuries. What was conceivably the

best offense in the country struggles at times. What can be done??

Washington was not impressive against Stanford. They only beat USC because they

lost their starting quarterback. Against Stanford they only managed 14

points and 299 yards. If healthy we are the better team by at least two

touchdowns. But we are banged up. Jimmy struggles with moving in the pocket and

is absolutely no threat to run.

Β

Well thank goodness we have a great offensive coach at the helm. We

now move the ball by committee. I loved the change of pace with Crist and

the wildcat formations. I think we continue to develope Crist and he should

play early in the game. His package will probably be expanded. After two

series he was no longer effective last week. If next week he could give us 4 really strong series

we will be in the drivers seat.

Β

Let's get healthy. I wish we could rest Jimmy more. I say he shouldn't practice until

Wednesday again. He needs to get more mobile. Armando should be 100%

and that will be BIG.

Β

Not to be overlooked is the defense. They played better and more disciplined.

They will need to continue improvement and hold Washington to two scores.

They can do this.

Β

We aren't the team we could have been if healthy. But we are improving....AGAIN. I think we should be 4-0.....still not conceeding that

Michigan beat us.

Β

Any thoughts of wrinkles to ad for Washington. This is a big game as many

teams are going down each week and we are just now getting into the meat

of the schedules. GO IRISH....

Clausen's toe is improving--that may be enough

Armando will be full go at practice-- thats another weapon

Other wrinkles

Β

More Rudolph-- even is he spends alot of time in the slot

Β

Lots of short stuff and let our lively backs run with it

Β

Ball control--

Β

Be deadly in the REDZONE---

Β

Start Manti over Toryan

Β

Make sure harrison smith gets his sleep before the game

Β

Blitz like we did against purdue-- more coverage-- more disciplined blitzes---that looks like the makings of a very effective scheme!--- we need more speed at MLB-- we need manti there

Β

Gonna be another thrilla!! aloha go irish

I think your right on. I think it will be similar to Purdue with the QB rotation and hopefully we will only need Jimmy for a couple of series and get him to 100% for SC.

Β

The success with Crist and the run offense will let Weis add more to the playbook. I can see us using more play action and giving Crist a couple more throws.

Β

This game will be much like the others I think. We'll score but our defense will determine if the game is close. AA will make a big impact as I think the entire wildcat playbook will be at Weis's disposal.

The defense looked better yesterday, though the score may not show that.

That was probably a product of them being on the field a little too much in the second half when we couldn't keep the O out there enough. We definitely dialed down on the blitzes, and that can only help us.

Β

I absolutely agree about starting Manti over Toryan too.

TS is just way too slow in pass protection.

Watching him chase slot receivers and tight ends on crossing routes and slants was unbearable. If he has to try to contain Locker we are in big trouble.

Β

I don't expect UDub to look as good on D as they did against usc.

I think they were playing over their heads and sark had them super-jacked for his old team. aaron corp was absolutely garbage out there too.

Another thing that was mentioned after UDub beat sc was the fact that sark was their old O coordinator.

He knows every offensive player inside and out, and that goes a long way in game planning against them.

Β

The fact that we've added the wildcat effectively gives the Huskies something else that they have to think about now too.

Β

I'm not too sure about Armando being 100% percent though, I think that's pretty wishful thinking on our part.

I think there will be some spy packages against Locker next week, hopefully with Teo playing that role. Let him run around a bit, he looked good pinning his ears back on Purdues last drive

I just found out that Washington gave up over 300 yards on the ground this week!!

I think this is huge with Armando coming back at 100%......this alone makes us MUCH

better then what we showed against Purdue. I also heard that Jimmy is moving much

better and the swelling has gone down in is turf toe. Anyone hear that. Not able to

read much with time constraints.

I would like to see the Irish make more tackles. It seems as the game goes on and its the 3rd or 4th qtr. we seem to miss our fare share of tackles for long yardage.

I agree with Crist they should throw in more play-action. The last thing we want Udub to do is key on run when Crist is in. Keep them respecting the pass when he's in, although probably not as much as with JC. I'd like to think DC could catch them sleeping, but we'll see.

Let's be honest. I don't think Jimmy should practice AT ALL this week until the very last practice to loosen up and shake any rust off.

Β

Jimmy knows the plays, isn't going to lose any strength or accuracy just by taking 4 practices off (in fact he'll probably get stronger and healthier).

Β

Jimmy is not our problem and needing time to heal. Let him sit and let him play.

Β

Unless they are putting new plays in but I cannot imagine Jimmy doesn't know the playbook by now forward and backwards.

Β

JMHO!

I have never seen this team spy a running QB. God knows why.

It seemed to me Crist couldn't move the ball after the first couple of series. Could we not

add a couple easy to hit pass plays such as faking to the back, rolling right, and hitting

Rudolph over the defensive ends' rush?

If JC and AA both play on offense we'll be fine.....on defense, hell lets try tackling someone on the first try, not the 3rd or 4th......

I am just very upset with Golden right now... where is that young man's head? he has had huge drops against scUM and state, the state band diving incident, and then he had been breaking off his routes occasionally and not sticking his routes. Is the problem and attitude problem, work ethic, or is this just the result of such a successful baseball season? I just don't know. During the last game i do blame Crist primarily for missing a wide open tate, however when the ball actually hit the ground it appeared that if tate had given it his all and stretched out he would have been able to catch it. then again if he had laid out and injured himself i would be wishing he hadn't tried to catch it. Either way, he needs to focus focus focus; without him we do not have a chance in heck to beat usc and probably not washington either.

He's the least of the problems right now.

We should do what we did to Purdue in the 2nd quarter - Crist/Run and add in some play action to keep them honest and allow Crist to gain some passing confidence. I think we should start with Crist and establish early and often our O-Line dominance against a team that gave up almost 300 yards rushing last week. The best way to control Locker (I'm from Seattle and that boy can all out PLAY) is to keep his butt on the bench. The Crist/Run offense can accomplish that and Crist is no slouch in the passing department if need be - you simply have to let him. Moreover, I am still waiting for those crossing patterns across the middle to Kyle. He's a beast and with a head of steam on a crossing or flat route, he could really break the Huskie's backs.

I'm waiting for our first crossing route of the season still!!

Β

Slight exaggeration, but why don't we run more slants and crossing routes?

Β

Those ins absolute kill zone defenses.
