I'm just curious, I follow recruiting, but know very little aside from what I read on most of the other ND boards. I'm just curious if anyone has an idea as to when/who our next recruit may be, and when?

I understand that most of these kids will want to see how ND preforms in the regular season, so I can see it taking a little while, but I'm just an impatient ND fan who has been spoiled with Charlie & CO. great recruiting over the years.

From following this board it seems like Ziggy is the go to guy for recruiting, so this is the question I pose.

Who do you think is our next recruit and how soon do you see him committing?

Personally I thought it would have been Corey Cooper, I was just curious to see what someone with more information knows.

Thanks in advance. Go Irish!

I think it will be one of the cb's from FL either riggs or boyd

Ive been reading and hearing Chance Carter (no kidding). I know, I know, we've heard this one before. Just passing on some possibly useless info.

At this point it is kind of hard to say who the next commitment will be. We have quite a few players out there who have heard our pitch, visited, and have us on top or in the lead group. The stimulus to make a verbal commitment would probably come after they have visited their other suitors and still have us on top. There are also a few players running around that would probably commit immediately if offered.

Anyway here are few I would not be surprised to see commit relatively soon: Riggs, Boyd, M. James, Barr, Carter, Leuders, Cooper.

has barr made any public comments the last month or so about ND? seems quiet...

I read on article recently, can't remember where, and it talked about how even though he is trying to go through the recruiting process with an open mind he just can't help holding Notre Dame in a special place. Strong family connections and he already has a pretty good relationship with Weis.

Even more, it said something about how most schools are recruiting him for RB but ND is recruiting him for defense. He agrees that his future is on the defensive side of the ball.

But Barr prefers running back, wants to be like Brandon Jacobs. says it is his 'natural fit'

Barr will end up at ND and it all depends on how much he grows. Lets not forget his measurables of from the beginning of his Jr year.

If he has to play defense then he'll play defense. He was quoted as saying that he & CW both feel his future is on the defensive side of the ball. He likes playing RB and it's been known, but has he been quoted as saying that's what he prefers?

Unless Boyd or Wood pull the trigger before Carter then I'd say Chance Carter will be the next commit.

There are ALOT of guys who are looking to make summer decisions, so we'll know whether or not we're going to get a majority of our offers by then.

Terrelle Pryor.

Just got a feelin.

that was prob gas...

lol, but He did look awfully good in OSU's spring game. Def wont be surprised if he's in the Heisman talk by next yr

Barr was quoted as saying in his recent article on scout that he's fine either way, offense or defense, he just wants to play.

And dont expect an early committment, he doesnt want to decide til after the season and maybe not til the all star game.

Barrs uncle has enstilled in him the belief that it is far more improtant to be a player then a specific position. He will be one of those guys who just wants to help the team out anyway he can. He will be an awesome get if we snag him. Normally I agree with Ziggy so much I just never reply, Ive been itchin to get a post in lately though lol.

Develop a case of poison ivy and start a scratching! :)

Omar Hunter!

Bwaahahahahaa! ;):D

My real thought? Nick Montana, it's just a matter of time.

I guess turn about is fair play as far as Chance Carter is concerned. Some of us were skeptical about him. It appears that he may be (with the help of some opposing schools) skeptical about the stability of ND's coaching staff and this has caused him to hesitate.

Who's next? No clue. But I'll predict the # of verbals will more than double by June 1. A CB trifecta of Riggs, Boyd, and yes, Lo Woods. A couple of them are supposedly real close to going public with a decision. Plus at least one of the Midwest DL prospects (Carter and Leuders).

Sorry. We may actually have to win some games early to convince some of the others. Even Anthony Barr is in a wait and see mode I've heard. A Pac-10 coach not named Pete Carroll has been pounding ND with that dreaded "negative recruiting" and the case was bolstered by Charlie telling the press he discussed quitting with his family.
