where does everybody think he will play in college. I personally would like to see him at safety b/c everytime i imagine it Taylor Mays comes to mind. He's pretty much the same size (he's 6-4 230, Mays is 6-3 230) and i just think he would be scary back there.

He does not have the speed that Mays has and I don't like him at safety. I would personally like to see him playing running back. I like his size and speed combination from a running standpoint and catching passes out of the backfield.

If he has to play defense linebacker would be the only solid fit. He would really make things difficult for the passing game in the middle of the field. You put him on a TE and he basically takes him out of the game.

It all depends on how he grows. If he can build strength and speed without packing on too many pounds he is a RB/WR. If he can't keep his weight down he is going to move to LB/DE.

This is my favorite recruit this year and I definitely want to see him at running back. I really hope he ends up at ND and carries the rock 20+ times a game beginning his junior year!

i personally don't love the idea of a 250lbs safety. i'd rather more athletic guys like we have now or like the Ed Reed's of hte world. I think Taylor Mays is good but overrated. He's also probably just as juiced as his boy cushing.

give me 2 harrison Smith's anyday.

back to the original question, Barr at LB/DE or RB

does anybody know his 40 time b/c i didn't see it on rivals. I know he doesn't have the speed of a taylor mays now but in high school mays ran around a 4.5ish according to rivals and now i think he's in the 4.3s. but either way he'll be a beast

This thread made me think of a ironman football.

If he is really that good at multiple positions why not use him on both sides of the ball if he can handle it? Does anybody still do this today? I know that some guys are used sparingly on offense such as Toal but if a guy can handle it physically why not let him be a LB and carry the ball 10-20 times a game?

Probably just wishful thinking because he would take a beating so it is something that would likely not even be considered.

Lets not get the cart in front of the horse here boys. Lets sign him and then put him in the best position to succeed. That being said, Mike Vrabel comes to mind. :)

Charlie and Anthony both agree that his future on the football field will be on the defensive side of the ball. most likely OLB and eventually DE.

Welcome to DD prosleeper. glad your posting too. :)

I say DE for Barr.

I really really want this guy. Just like Seantrel Henderson and Chris Martin (even though we already have him)

Anthony Barr reminds me of Everson Griffen from USC big, fast and physical. Yeah a solid DE or maybee OLB.

griffin was one of the best DE prospects coming out of high school that I have ever seen.

Forever it appears that you have an inside here. Are you related? Seriously, I know there a quite a few former players posting and lurking on here.

I've also heard he's being recruited for the defensive side of the ball.

His height, length, and speed make him a perfect 4-3 DE. If he can grow to 260+, he's going to be an absolute BEAST.
