I a Guinness drinker and to tell you the truth, I don't know. They only have plastic cups, so I would never even think of ordering one - I'll have to look next time I'm over there.

There is NOTHING clean at the backer. They fired the maid about 10 years ago. That's why everything on the menu is fried. The theory is that it will kill everything off that isn't supposed to be there.

 

Chainsaw....did they get Sweet Caroline or the Victory March going in there? There's usually a lot of alcohol induced crowd participation when they do! I can't believe they got rid of Smithwick's. If that was your first time there...they used to have gigantic 32oz Smitty's for 4 bucks :shock: $12 and you wouldn't even remember why you came to South Bend!

I just remember all the Friday nights that Ive been in there before a game. I STILL get amazed every time I go because of the way your feet stick to the floor!!! Funny bc all the USC people that come there always dress up and the blonde women all wear heels and then they are almost repulsed by the place until they get a few drinks in them! Then I guess that their beer goggles get working!

The Guinness was in bottles only... the dudes next to us ordered us an Irish car bomb and they had to use Guinness in a bottle. No Sweet Caroline or Victory March, but I'm sure they played it after we left. It is fun to sing Sweet Caroline in a drunken stupor!!! HA! Looking forward to heading back on a Friday before a game.

Especially, back in my beer drinkin, butt stinkin, sniffin glue days! I'm almost 40 now. So, I usually wake up to 2 geritols and a nexium followed by oatmeal and the 3 V's.

No it is this really great dive bar in Broad Ripple. I usually don't go to Broad Ripple much but if I do the Alley Cat is a must. I'm mid 30's, damn I'm not looking forward to the geritols.

PS: I've been to the Alley Cat before. A couple times. Broad Ripple has this strange allure for me when I am in Indy.

I destroy Sweet Caroline Friday Karaoke nights at the 100 to 1 across from the Santa Anita racetrack.

The crowd participation for that one is always huge.

Especially when everyone shouts "SWEET CAROLINE, BAA BAA BAAAA!!"
