Exactly, there is no doubt he's a LB and best bet IMO is that he will be a SAM.

Tenuta told him he could play all 3, but most likely OLB at Sam or Will

Was this Pre- or Post-Spring Game?

I would have thought him to be a longshot as well before the spring game, but now I think we are right in the thick of things.

Pete Sampson on II said that he it would be a shock if he signed with the Irish.....

yes, but that was because everyone pegged him as a strong PSU lean before the ND visit. Some people believed the ND visit pulled us even, but with the PSU visit coming up that PSU would prob jump back ahead after that.

Apparently the PSU visit wasnt as good as expected and some PSU people believe ND might have a slight lead, but who really knows.

Either way, Pete Sampson isnt really a reliable source IMO. He talks a lot with players, but his "gut" feelings arent really something Id take as anything more than gut feelings. He talks to the players, so he's a good source for quotes and everything, but we'll see.

He also said he'd be shocked if Boyd didnt commit at the Spring gm. I was with him on that, but it didnt happen, so lets just wait & see what translates with Fortt.

I know Chris Martin was pushing hard for Fortt during the visit. If ND wins, we're gonna see some of these recruits taking notice. I promise you that.

I HAVE A DREAM.................where Chris Martin, Manti Teo, Jeff Luc, and Khairi Fortt are the starting linebackers for Notre Dame.

Luc is definitely a stretch but Fortt could go either way.

that wont happen b/c we're a 4-3 team now and Martin's a DE :-)

But you're right Luc will not be coming to ND, but I think we should just wait & see on Fortt b/c he had some great things to say about ND before his trip and he had some great things to say afterwards, but he was pegged by some as a PSU lean and he didnt commit at the Spring game, so lets just wait & see.

Free articles from Rivals and ESPN. The articles don't shed too much light but all signs currently point to PSU. Also it looks like he will pull the trigger in June...which is weird since he said he wants to take at least 3 official visits. As far as I know, official visits can't occur until Fall. But if the quote below holds much weight, I don't see how ND wouldn't at least make his Top 3-5.

"There are some schools with phenomenal football but poor academics, some are too far away and don't have a good alumni base," Fortt said of how he is going to go down his list. "Looking at all of those factors is how we are going to find out what is the best school for me."
