BC's DL B.J. Raji failed his drug test at the NFL combine.....

Someone leaked that information. That isn't supposed to be public knowledge. A team wants him to slide in the draft.

This morning it was revealed that both Cushing and Matthews failed the drug test at the NFL Combine.

This is sad and sick. Tossing away a career for a toke or whatevever. It's shooting yourself in the foot before you get to the starting gate. At least cheat after the combine if your bent that way. Pardon my words but these guys are fools, and stay away from fools or you get hurt.

This isn't the first time he's flunked a drug test and he was in trouble at BC off and on his entire college career. This guy will be a star in the league if someone finally gets through to him.

He will still go in the top 15 picks in this years draft this is not a big deal. Roids is a whole different story in reference to the rumors about U$C LBs

Hopefully a California team picks him up and he can smoke the stuff legally. haha I am sure he has plenty of pain from playing ball. Lets go after the guys taking roids and beating up their wives and children.

 

Don't get me wrong I think it is a REALLY stupid decision on his part, but if this makes his stock plumett that is kind of silly. Santonio Holmes stock didnt drop after he beat the shit out of his g/f in Columbus a month before the draft.

 

I think the NFL needs to get it's priorities straight.

 

I have to smile a little though, after the damage he did to our OL last year. Jeez that guy is a beast, someone should have given him a joint before the ND game to chill him out a little. LOL:cool:

Alright, I'll say it. Why is smoking marijuana a crime? (and no, I don't smoke it so don't think I'm just some hippie who wants to get high). It has far less side effects and health concerns than either alcohol or tobacco. I say legalize it, tax the ever living shit out of it, police it the same as alcohol, and we would be a long ways towards being out of this "recession."

while i agree that weed smoking is not a huge deal, it *does* point to an ignorance or character issue, if you will, of the guys who got "caught." by that i mean, if ya can't abstain for a few weeks or a month to ace your "job interview," than what does that say about you? this is arguably the biggest moment of their young lives and they potentially f*** it up with something silly like that? dumb, dumb, dumb...

 

having said all that, they will still be millionaires and play in "da league," of course, but they might've cost themselves some money early in their careers...

Flip side of the coin...Most likely the first time in these kids life that they have more money then most will see in 5 years of working and massive amounts of time off. I am sure all the "old buddies" come crawling out of the wood work wanting to hang "just one last time". I personally could see how one thing could lead to another and next thing your know your puffing away.

 

Not saying I don't disagree with you. If it were me personally, I wouldn't screw up a unique opportunity by smoking some pot but I can see how it could happen.

I didn't know they had pot up there in God's country. Just kidding, I agree with you about taxing Pot. Its no worse then cigarettes or alcohol.

being from hawaii i guess i'm a little bias here-- but the pot thing is not going to effect raji's status AT ALL--- in fact it might help-- if he plays like that stoned i'd hate to see him play on withdrawls--lol---as far as USC and the roids go-- i agree thats so so different-- NFL teams dont want players who shrink and get slower once they get in the NFL--- it wouldnt surprise me to see both those players slide in the draft significantly if the roid story is accurate---- at USC they test everyone to make sure they have all taken their steriods regularly!!--lol

It's tough being Petey,you have so many players, so many needles, and so many test to give to make sure that everyone is on roids. You got to feel bad for that guy, sometimes athletes just forget to take their medicine!LOL

you're crazy if you dont think it will affect his status, he'll def drop outa the top 10 now. He was being talked about in the top 5 picks and def being the first DT taken. The sad thing about it is that they all knew they were going to get drug tested, so if they're that dumb to fail a drug test that they know about what are they going to do when they're getting random drug tests during the course of a season. shows bad character and that he doesnt have his priorities in order.

 

And on Clay Matthews failing, his agent sent a letter to that website and pretty much handed them their ass. He said that they have not been notified of a failed drug test and neither has the NFL, so if the NFL hasnt been notified then they couldnt notify any of the teams (one of the sources was from an NFL team), so it's BS.

 

I think Cushing is just being thrown out there b/c everyone pretty much knows or thinks he did steroids. There's been talk about team scouts & officials saying they're not going to bother with him b/c he did roids.

i'm sorry but marijuana is not a big deal at all. Everyone's done it at least once, and it's shouldn't even be news if a player is caught smoking (though possession is another issue)...Just like how the ND players were caught drinking underage...EVERYBODY has done that, and yet, it's news when it's concerning ND players.
