It seems like Notre Dame football is at a major crossroads, with significant changes happening after an impressive 14-2 season. Despite the success, it's clear that the program's staff turnover is creating some big challenges for head coach Marcus Freeman. But it also looks like Freeman is working diligently to navigate these changes by bringing in some strong new hires.
Chris Ash replaces Al Golden
The decision to replace Al Golden with Chris Ash seems strategic, especially considering Ash's background with defensive backs and his leadership beside Luke Fickell. Golden's style was clearly popular, so it'll be interesting to see if Ash’s fiery approach can maintain that same level of success. His expertise should complement the strong defensive talent already present, but the transition could still have its bumps.
Ja’Juan Seider is a big get
With the talented trio of Jerimiyah Love, Jadarian Price, and Aneyas Williams at running back, having someone with Seider’s track record will certainly keep that position as a strength. His experience with developing 1,000-yard rushers at Penn State is a major win for the Irish.
A new GM (Mike Martin)
The search for a new General Manager is definitely an intriguing one. The evolving nature of college football’s rules around recruiting, the transfer portal, and NIL demands a savvy, experienced leader. Mike Martin seems like an excellent choice to help navigate this new era, and building out a robust scouting department could help the Irish gain an edge on the competition, especially with such a complex landscape.
Building for Long-Term Success
All in all, Marcus Freeman is making moves to stay ahead of the curve, and while there are inevitable challenges, these hires could help position Notre Dame for continued success. It's exciting to see how these changes will unfold and if they'll pay off in the long run. What do you think of these moves? Does the future of Notre Dame football look bright to you?
Yes favorable comments are flowing from all over as the irish impress this spring--even ESPN is seeing the writing on the wall !---- you wont here much preseason anti-hype this year-- the irish have no playmakers-- the irish are too young-- the irish stunk last year and will stink again----The PRESS is becoming seduced by ND and rightfully so !
In fact, if you want to read about our shortcomings-- our inablity to produce anything real on the field-- our endless question mark positions-- and our untested coaches---you better just read our covy of negative posters right here, because you wont find much of it in the national press. WHY??
Because this 2009 team is the BIGGEST_FASTEST_AND DEEPEST TEAM IN ND HISTORY!!!----- can that be true or is it just hyperbole? well boys it is true, after purusing our rosters for the last 15 years or so-- going back to a time when all PLAYERS AND TEAMS WERE SMALLER--this 2009 team, on balance is the biggest -the fastest and the deepest-- since ND started playing football------------WRs -- deepest and fastest ever
RBs--- adding WOOD this is close to the fastest and close to the deepest and definitely the biggest ever
OL-- are much malinged oline has threads on how good or not, they are but no denying this is the deepest and biggest group EVER!--- they look like the cowboys out there--- 6/7 6/8 tackles-- two 335 guys-- everyone over 300 and a nice two deep!
TE-- fastest group by far
QB-- two good ones where is lovechio-- clausen brings down the team speed a bit LOL
DB-- tallest ,fastest deepest
LB-- endless years of slow plodding backers are over over over!!!
DL-- with johnson- williams- williams-- KLM-- biggest down 4---and with- neal -stockton- richardson- newman- cwynar- nwanko-deepest as well
Forget the last two years of growing pains and coaching changes--
The reason the press - the oddsmakers-- and the pollsters-- are
reacting in such an unusually positive manner-- is because they can
see " THE WRITING ON THE WALL "----THE 2009 TEAM-- is the BIGGEST FASTEST DEEPEST UNIT TO EVER START A SEASON AT ND !
