;)coaster, great practice , i see a lot of intensity from everyone , looks like crist is getting some good reps and jc hadn't better slow down crist looks very sharp IMO :D

I'm done with evaluating spring practice drills personally. They're the equivalent of a false positive on a blood test. Show me in the first three games and I'll be impressed.

I've never seen this before at one of our practices. It's nice.

This is the type of stuff that usc has been doing for 7 or 8 years.

The intensity at these practices is incredible.

It's the whole peer pressure/performance thing.

It fosters a different type of competition level than 1st string, 2nd string, 3rd string guys practicing in their set places.

These types of drills let 3rd string guys and walk-ons get a lick at guys ahead of them on the depth chart.

It's all beat your chest, alpha male crap, but it works!

It sets the competition level so high, and brings out the best in the best.

As for the video, how good did B. Smith look?

He kicked ass every time he stepped up, and he kinda man handled Ragone one time.

Filer made a couple nice plays too.

And does anyone know who #92 is?

I'm assuming he's a walk on because I cant find him on the roster.

He pissed off Stewart the one time, and made some nice plays too.

#92 is....... Tyler Stockton! Freshman EE!

I love these videos. No, I get nothing out of them (info wise) but just like seeing the boys hitting and playing some football instead of just video of them stretching for 20 minutes. Thanks! :D

Filer looks like a first-teamer too...love the intensity Chris Stewart brings

Agreed regarding Stewart. Glad he stuck around after he almost left the team.

From what I read on Scout Clausen looks as sharp as he did against Hawaii and Duncan looks great as well so no problems there. The defense looks better than they did vs. Hawaii. Actually everyone looks better and the reserves are pushing hard for playing time. 09 is going to be a very good year.

That is extremely encouraging to hear about Duncan. His ability to make "Turk like" progress will be a huge factor in this offense.

The Spring Game is brutal because it get's us all fired up and then we go into one of the longest, most brutal dead periods in all of sports.

harrison smith was a HHHUUUUGGGGEEE get. that kid's just a natural. i expect big things form him/mccarthy/sergio all year.

That's Tyler?!!!

That dude is a man child!

Looks like a friggen fireplug with a little pitbull nastiness mixed in.

Good luck keeping him off of the field next year.

You're definately right, harrison is just a well rounded athlete. If one didn't know who he is, it looks like they could easily mistake him for a linebacker from watching him in the videos. He is a huge safety.

jesus, ain't that the truth? i swear, i'm enjoying all the spring practice news and the renewed debate on DD and stuff but i have one eye always looking over the horizon towards the horrible "dead period" after the spring game. someone help me! ;-)
