Agree. A bit overboard on the parents' part.

Yeah...about as gay as spending hours reading and posting about dozens of 17/18 year old kids your not related to and eagerly following their every move for roughly a year through message boards that list their visits, videos and news articles. I hear ya about how annoying it is for parents to say "look at how awesome my kid is..." but this is just a step up from personal highlight videos...not to mention the parents are lobbying for a free $160k education so they prob have another website devoted the type of boat they're gonna buy once he signs his LOI. I wish every ND recruit had this kind of site cause it makes them easier to follow and keep a pulse on what they're doing.

ZING!!! well said DTC

The thing with this is it was the parents' attempt to get his name out there more. It obv worked. This kid had youtube videos all over the place his frosh & soph years. Kinda like the 11 yr old basketball player whose like the #1 6th grader in the nation. He'll prob end up at a D-1 school in a few years and possibly a lottery pick after that. That doesnt sound that gay.

First time poster, long time observer. Gotta say this is probly one of the best sites for scoops and accurate info. Absolutely love it.

With that said.... I dont think its very "gay" that his parents put a site up for him. They obviously want there son to have the best chance possible to continue his football career. The music is kinda....well.....gay, but the idea is a solid one. This kid looks for atheltic and has good instincts. I have no idea why none of the recruiting sites are showing him much love.

Welcome to DD irisheyes and have to agree with you..If my kid was a great player coming out of HS I would probably do the same...:D

following recruiting is a part of the hobby of being a college football fan of a particular school. It's not like I have tchris555.com with "hours logged per message board, posts made, correct predictions, videos, etc."

I'm sure all of you said it was great that Ryan Mallett had his corny lil site when he was a HS kid too right?

What are the chances that a kid who's still in HS and has a internet site/shrine to himself and his accolades (whether or not it's his doing) is patient when working his way up a depth chart? This could be a Mitch Mustain situation. If i was Caleb's friend or classmate I would absolutely destroy him for that site.

Came back to say one more thing on this but i'll respond to the idea that a site like this is necessary for him to get a "free education". He already has plenty of offers from the best schools/programs in the country. I doubt any coaches found out about Caleb from CalebLavey.com. You can send all the info you want to wahtever programs you want, go to camps, etc.

This is what I wanted to add: i think it's a huge mistake he's got his or his parents' phone number up there. Terrible idea. God forbid he doesn't pick the right school, he'll be getting some calls/emails about it.

BTW, this has nothing to do with my opinion of him as a player. He looks like he absolutely dominates his level of competition.

They do have "burner" phones as they call them around here. They're pre-paid phones that can be turned off or on with relative ease. (drug dealers use them) His parents probably gave out a number to one of these types of deals where they can always just turn it off when necessary. :-D
