i would think a QB would be higher on peoples lists. we didnt even take one last year.

My 5 favorite recruits-

Barr -Beast can play in about 4 positions

Henderson - Love to finally close down the LT slot for 3 yrs

Heaps - More polshed than Bell

Fiedorowicz - Athletic freak - important after last yrs TE haul

Parker - Need a top 5 nation safety

tchris- what does your list look like?

Difference makers -

1. Henderson

2. Heaps

3. Martin (cha-ching)

4. Ferguson - stud could play DE or DT

5. Riley - need safeties bad as well as CB's. Kid's a stud athlete at a lot of places.

Hard to pick just 5 and I know I should have a CB on there but I feel like we've offered a crop of decent guys and we'll land 2 of them, but probably no Darrin Walls this year. We desperately need either Henderson, Hurst, Stone, or Green at LT but I picked just 1.

Also, I kind of just take Barr for granted. Hope I dont end up regretting that.

Kind of like many of us took Carter for granted until the last month? I also was taking both Jones and Prater as the same w Smith, and we see how that has turned.

Grizz, it's not your fault.

You asked for favorite recruits. If thats the case, then I won't factor in positional need. Its just the guys I really like, which has more to do with them as people more than as players, but its a mixture. There are some kids I totally respect as people but aren't very good prospects, and some players that have all the talent in the world but are the Willie Williams' of the world, that act like thugs.

And obviously, this list will be fluid as I'm sure there'll be more information as it becomes available:

C.J. Fiedorowicz - Illinois kid, loads of talent, laid down some coin to ensure getting in to a place like ND... I definitely like this kid.

Tai-ler Jones - Has personality, and is very very quick and agile. His cutting ability is something else, he's opened my eyes bigtime.

Chris Martin - Very much committed to ND, wants to take on the responsibility of recruiting other pieces to the puzzle around him... and arguably the best defensive recruit in Weis's tenure.

Anthony Barr - I like that he's a football player, and not one of these "I have to play X or I'm not coming to your school." Pretty talented and has good genes too.

Aramide Olaniyan - Explosive athlete, and very much interested in academics, not just lip service there. Going to pick whichever school for the right reasons.

And if you're asking favorites over the last 5 years?

2009: Manti Te'o, 2nd Tyler Stockton, signed elsewhere Jawanza Starling, Devon Kennard

2008: Dayne Crist***, 2nd Joseph Fauria***, signed elsewhere Milton Knox, Jeremy Brown

2007: Harrison Smith, 2nd Kerry Neal, signed elsewhere Ryan Miller, Major Wright

2006: Darrin Walls, 2nd Kallen Wade, signed elsewhere Gerald McCoy, Myron Rolle

2005: David Bruton, 2nd Pat Kuntz, signed elsewhere Dan Doering, Brian Cushing

***The two best interviews I've ever heard from ND prospects, bar none - I'll always root for these kids.

If its raw football talent and team need:

1. Seantrel Henderson

2. Chris Martin

3. Blake Bell

4. Anthony Barr

5. Sean Parker

1. Jeff Luc (where is the love from you guys?)

2. Sentrel Henderson (duh)

3. Owamagbe Odighizuwa (the player and the name)

4. Aramide Olaniyan (great head on his sholders and a hellva football player to boot, why havent we offered?)

5. Kyle Prater (Next Mike Floyd/Randy Moss)

Jeff Luc is amazing and I would probably give a testicle to see him in Blue and Gold (and I'm pretty serious). Henderson is THE next great OL wherever he goes (and I'm runnin' out of testicles!). Owa is a lil bit of a project, but a beast none the less. Aramide is a great kid and a great player who had better get an offer, and Kyle Prater is gonna be a 5* and the top or second best WR in the country when its all said and done.

Honorable Mentions:

Khari Fortt

Devin Gardner

James Hurst

Matt James

Denzel McCoy

Tai-ler Jones
