irishziggy
his finalists are: Michigan, Mich St, Baylor, LSU, and WVU my guess is Michigan

IrishGuy
One of my friends is a Michigan fan (I know....I know), and he has been claiming this guy has been wrapped up for months. I believe he will be a skunkbear.

Katzenboyer
Regardless of how we feel about them, this will be a really good pickup for Michigan.
DJonesIRISH
Unless Mich pulls something out of their ass this year I can't believe that RR will even be around past Gardner's freshman year. I just don't see them being any better this year. No McGuffie (sp?), No more stud DL (except Martin), Same secondary minus one good corner(snicker snicker). I really do think we're going to have fits trying to stop that offense in the next couple of years. Hell, they ran all over us last year even. DJonesIRISH
I think he can get it done, but I think it will take more than 3 years to do it. I don't think UM fans are willing to wait that long. It doesn't help that half the people around the program say that "its lost its family atmoshpere."

It doesn't help that half the people around the program say that "its lost its family atmoshpere." i know he's been a disaster off the field and they were terrible last year but he had an amazing offense at WVU and I'm positive the recruiting power of Michigan trumps WVU by miles. Keep in mind they were deadly with a sophomore Pat White at QB a couple years ago and I beleive Slaton was only a soph or junior as well. He loaded up on talent last year, including some juco's. I'd much rather still have Lloyd there. You know what you're getting with him.
D Fence
Well, looks like it's official to UM http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090312/SPORTS0201/903120452/1004/SPORTS I think RR gets a little more slack, as long as he plays the political game right. He will probably have to start a lot of freshmen on the DL this year, but his offensive skill will be much better - even without McGuffie. If on the other hand he remains an ass in public, the big boosters there might get more impatient.

IrishGuy
I am kinda neutral towards RR and what he might be able to do at Michigan. I agree that his offenses have put up mind boggling numbers.....but it took him some time to build them up to that level (and he was playing in the Big East....outside of the impressive bowl wins). I am sure he can implement a similar offense at UM....but it will take time and I am not sure UM will be willing to give him time. RR has shown over his career that he is unable to adapt to his players talents. He has a system that requires certain types of players, and without those players his system fails (had he even attempted to play to his talent last year, Michigan was probably a 7 to 9 win team). If RR does not learn to actually coach to his current players talents, he might be looking at 3 or 4 wins again this year.....and that will get him fired. ND FANATIC
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/onthetrail Won't change the outcome, but he's had a change of plans..... Devin Gardner not ready to announce just yet Quarterback Devin Gardner has decided to wait to announce his college choice, Bucknuts.com's Bill Kurelic reports. Gardner is expected to eventually announce a commitment to the Wolverines, but it won't be this weekend as previously anticipated. "My family and coach and I decided that it's best that a press conference will be scheduled after basketball season is over. Then is when all interviews will be," Gardner said in a text message. The 6-foot-4 and 205-pound Gardner threw for 1,886 yards and rushed for 1,401 during his junior season. Gardner has scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, LSU, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Nebraska and others. BG Tom1
Demetrius Jones x2. Similar size and has the stigma around him of not being able to throw the ball well right now.

Similar size and has the stigma around him of not being able to throw the ball well right now. Where did you hear this? I've heard he throws really well and all the video I've seen shows a strong arm too. Although, compared to my football arm anything is strong haha. Guest alwaysirish
I have not seen film on this Devin Gardner kid, but I know he plays in a league around here that is absolutely terrible. This kid might eventually be a good player down the line for Michigan, but I really don't think there is much to worry about here guys. I am not at all dissapointed that we lost out on his services. I hate saying things that might come back to bite me, but I think after missing out on Pryor and a couple decommits last year at QB, has Dickrod in a situation where he has to kind of take a sure thing right now for depth purposes alone. I know he's not going to be featuring the run and shoot in Ann Arbor, but based on the competition level this kid plays at, that would be enough for me. This area around here is not a hotbed for recruiting and I bet this kid will be learning for awhile on the sideline.
