I agree Rick... If Montana goes to SC that will be a slap in the face to his dad and all ND fans..

I don't think Montana going elsewhere would be a slap in the face... it would be disappointing, but not unheard of.

We always pull for sons of college rivals to come to ND. We have even succeeded - Anthony MacDonald anyone?

We also pulled for Clausen's Oaks Christian classmate (Tyler sp?) to come to ND, who's father starred at UCLA... and he eventually ended up at USC.

I would rather have someone who REALLY wants to be at ND, regardless of personal history, than someone who feels obligated to attend.

Heart... can win a lot of those close games.

the post was going to SC, not going elsewhere

Anthony MacDonald, who's father started at USC, now goes to ND... I don't think the SC boards have excommunicated his father, or taken his choice personally... I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Personally, I think we should simply accept that kids have their own paths to blaze, instead of taking personal affront when the son of a Domer chooses to go to a rival. It's an individual choice.

Besides, Nick Montana grew up in the shadow of the Coliseum, all friends are SC fans... it's hard to escape the pull of "hometown" influence.

That said, Nick has not ruled out ND!! I hope he comes.

It would be tough to see a montana in an $C jersey. I know McDonalds dad was a starter at $C, but he wasn't arguably the best player in trojan history, or football history for that matter. Montana would be on ND's Mount Rushmore with Rockne, Leahy, and Lujack. ' Substitute Lujack for who ever you want'

Does he even have an offer from SC? Rivals profile doesn't show it.

Its much more likely he ends up a Buckeye.

Oh man, don't remind me of marc tyler.

He was so good in high school.

Better than any back we have on our team IMO.

nick montana wont be going to USC---im giving 17 to 1 on that!!

Montana wouldn't be on our Mount Rushmore.

If it was based solely on the pros then yes.

That is correct. There are other QBs that are more deserving. Tony Rice, Kevin Mcdougal are two of them IMHO.

Montana's legend grew in the pros kinda like Tom Brady.

hmm... it's a coin flip. I'll admit i was a 49's fan growing up...

But, I thought the rep of being a comeback kid... and winning a National Championship counted for something...

i guess that's pretty comforting. Nothing's worse than watching a perfectly good player get wasted on the trojans.
