I've listened to a few radio shows where they mentioned a few players that have really impressed the coaches. I heard about Kapron Lewis Moore and Posluszny. Has anyone else heard of others?

Last year Blanton impressed the coaches. Is there any players that didn't play last year that might make a big impact based on comments from our coaches?

Both WALKER and GOODMAN were singled out as really impresssing--- our recieving corps is going to be lights out -- and what a competition for the 3 and 4 spots--- ive also heard the staff is very pleased and optimistic about all the redshirted defensive lineman-- namely- hafis--brandon- cwynar- and as you mentioned KLM--- IMO at so many positions we have gone from FAMINE TO FEAST its just great!!

what has the staff said about cywnar? It seems like he has fallen off the earth. I never hear his name anymore.

What position will Posluszny play next year?

I'm not sure but I like his speed. Most likely outside.

Cwynar was part of a group assessment on pretty much the entire DLine haul from 2008.

I think the thing about Cwynar was he needed to hit the weight room before he could compete. In fact, we've heard about as much on him as we have Hafis and Newman since they showed up on campus, but the point is a lot of them have talent but, like many line prospects, need that extra year or so to dedicate solely to their body.

Heard pros on Goodman, Filer, D. McCarthy, and Slaughter too. The rest are kind of "duh" guys.

pretty much heard good things from the entire 2008 class...I guess that was almost expected, haha

Any one have an idea what Poz's 40 time is. I have never seen him play, besides high school film, does he have good or great football speed? Just curious cause i havent seen him play.

Rivals lists him as a 4.62.

Rivals lists him as a 4.62.

And that was back in HS. Whether that # has gone up w/ weight, or gone down with speed training, we don't know.

So what will the depth chart @ Linebacker look like?

JACK

Kerry Neal Jn

Darius Fleming So

MIKE

Steven Filer So

Anthony Macdonald So

SAM

Brian Smith Jn

Manti Te'o Fr

WILL

David Poslusnzy So

Zeke Motta Fr

I suspect all these guys will see significant playing time.

If I had to guess, at least early on:

Strong OLB

Fleming

Motta

Mike

Te'o

Filer

Weak OLB

B. Smith

S. Smith

With the DL (Strong to weak side reading) Lewis-Moore, I. Williams, Johnson, and Neal (obviously, the backups will play too).

EDIT: I've heard some things about their plans for Fleming in particular, raised my eyebrows a bit since I thought they'd want him at DE, but I guess not.

At this piont do we know what path Motta is headed down? Are we bulking him up to be an outside LB or keeping him trim to play safety??

According to my infallible, falible calander We start practice the 20th. Then we will know.

From what little I heard from the Army All American Game, the kid was awesome at covering Bryce Brown out of the backfield as a linebacker. Some of the east coaches mentioned that Brown had a tougher time in practice against Motta than he did in the game.

I also read reports and saw a video of one of the camps. Cierre Wood was having a dominating preformance but struggled to get open against Motta.

Also, he is supposed to have a real knack for timing the blitz.

IMHO, he could play either but he could be a real star at outside linebacker.
