not that this is surprising but according to IE barr has "formally "put us in his favorites category--- this all everything player son of tony brooks- nephew of reggie brooks--- this would be such a fantastic player to get, its great to see him narrowing his schools all ready-- hopefully he will soon narrow it to ONE!!!

when I watch this kids film, I am reminded of Eric Dickerson... he is not to tall or strong to play tailback...

I think its very possible that he could either end up as a RB or FB for the Irish, depending on how the rest of this class fills out. He's a big dude, and looks to be a legit threat out of the backfield. Could be the latest Brian Leonard type FB.

Not saying he couldn't end up on defense, either, but it is a thought, since FB is a huge position of need numerically speaking.

Are we his favourite or amoung "favourites"?

I'd prefer the first if you know what I mean. :)

PS If he has top list, who else is in the list? I hope it includes u$c, so when Anthony picks us, the $C boards will claim they "didn't want him anyways"...:)

his film on youtube is just insane....I really would have no idea where to put him....either way i would love him in a ND uniform!

it sounds like he'll end up on the defensive side...LB, DE, or safety

Cal,UCLA, and Colorado plus one more. He said he had a top 3 and then went on to list five schools that he was interested in.

Thats what most people think.

I've heard RB, WR, LB, S, and DE, depending on which school is after him. I really haven't seen any defensive film on him, so my opinion is mostly based off seeing him toting the rock, and knowing we have a glaring need at fullback.

you hate to say something like this but you'd have to think he actually is "ours to lose". I mean Uncle Reggie actually lives in South Bend right now and works on campus.

I hope he's a running back. He could be the college version of Brandon Jacobs.

I wouldn't put him alongside Chance Carter just yet, but I'd be stunned if he went elsewhere. Probably needs more time to feel like the recruiting process is his, rather than have everyone tell him, "Hey, your family tree practically is Notre Dame, when are you going?"

well put.

interesting that Barr seems like the most versatile player we're recruiting or biggest question mark as to position (but certainly not ability) considering on the Signing Day show on UND.com Reggie Brooks made a point that he wishes kids focused on being "football players" rather than deciding they are Safeties or WR's when they are 15 years old.

Makes sense coming from him. He bounced around several positions before getting his shot at half back as a senior.

One thing that stands out about Barr. He will start from day one.

And I have never said that about any recruit.

I would doubt he plays offense. Defense wins championships.

it would be awesome if he played both sides of the ball

I'll take the flip side of that bet. Maybe 3-4 years ago, but the cupboards are restocked all around with the exception of S. He might be able to earn the SS spot opposite Harrison from day one, but even that I doubt, as Dan McCarthy is no slouch in his own right and will have had 2 years in the program on him.

Fullback would be a place he could start at early too, but I dunno if he's up for that.
