I still think we take 4-5 db's this year and I don't see us taking 4 linebackers again this year. Just my opinion.

My dream class is if they can play the game of football, that's all I can ask.

Yeah, I think Ziggy has the best reflection of high interest from the players and high level guys if we have 10-11 wins I could see our class looking a lot like that.

thats a sweet sweet group ziggy-- chris martin at LB ?--- anywhooo i bet we will get at least a dozen off that list---( well since we have 3 already)---say 10 more-- but we probably have to find another ten somewhere else---

Me personally, I dont really like having 2 or more QB's in one class. I really think it could wind being a wasted scholy, ala Frazier and/or Jones (nothing against the kids, just didnt work out). You can only play one QB at a time, I'd put a scholy somewhere else, but just my opinion.

Since they got no QB's in '09, I hope they bring in two next year. By the time they set foot on campus in '10, Clausen will be a Sr. and Crist will be a Jr (eligible for a 5th yr). Any bad luck next year with injuries and we could see a walk on Montana at QB or one of the position players filling in.

 

Just look at Texas...they have 5* QB Garrett Gilbert coming in this year and already for '10 the have Connor Wood and Case McCoy coming in. That's just insane to have that much talent but it builds depth and creates competiton.

 

Hopefully one big time QB like Heaps comes in and then the 2nd commit could be more of a project. Someone that would redshirt and develop under the direction of the coaches.

I think Prater could be a stretch (if Arrelious Benn goes pro, could be a huge selling point with the Illini), as are Fortt, Leuders (I dont think he gets offered unless its later in the process), and I'm still not sure if the cornerbacks that in with us next February have been offered yet or not.

 

I'm I'm dreaming big? Subtract Leuders, add Wilson, subtract Matt James, add Henderson, subtract Hinder, add Pete Thomas (I'm not that high on Heaps, JMO).
