Posted February 21, 200916 yr Hello all, first post, been here for a couple weeks now. Just wanted to let everyone know we offered Montana today per IE.
February 22, 200916 yr thanks, i've got to say that this has been my favorite forum to read, very little negativity unlike some of the others oh boy...i'm guessing you haven't met domeandomer yet?? LOL! just kidding! this is the BEST forum for ND football. welcome.
February 22, 200916 yr Any negativity usually comes from me. So when you see my name just skip it haha. I wouldn't make much of this. Charlie is friends with Montana, it probably would have been an insult if he didn't offer him. The kid has said he's not interested and frankly I'm not that impressed with him. Only thing that bothers me about that is I probably wouldn't have been impressed with his pops in high school either. yes, most negativity comes from you, but without a personality like yours what would this board be, nothing but positve posts and thats no fun so thanks for posting your negativity, but I do like this board for its positive posters. HawaiIrish, thanks for all your thread starters.
February 22, 200916 yr your correct ,dad says its the boys choice, to be honest i look for the young one to get offers from several schools he will stay in california to play his college ball, imo sorry but thats a call from the mom side, joe won't get envolved? what say you ?
February 22, 200916 yr I hate to think of Joe as a hen-pecked man who can't tell his son what he thinks is best for him. I agree, i don't think we will get him, but if he goes to $C, you have to really scratch your head. Anywhere but $C for Montana!

I think the same could have been said for Anthony MacDonald... sometimes you win... sometimes you don't. These decisions are some of the biggest kids will ever make... so all the more power to Nick, I hope her accepts the challenge extended to him by Weis though.
February 22, 200916 yr i think the situation is just a little too weird for him to end up at ND. i doubt he wants to compete with his brother. that teamed with his general lack of interest so far makes me think we shouldn't focus on him.

LMAO...it took longer than I thought, but I knew SOMEONE would mention that! I should have known that I could count on you BI. "When you're not very good, pessimism = realism"
February 23, 200916 yr Nate Montana is a walk-on, right? Yeah, he's a preferred walk-on which means he has a guaranteed roster spot but he pays his own way.
February 23, 200916 yr Yeah, he's a preferred walk-on which means he has a guaranteed roster spot but he pays his own way. Interesting, thanks. I thought Nate was a walk-on, given the hoopla over his younger brother's actual scholarship offer, but I had never heard the term "preferred walk-on" before I saw it applied to Thomas Freeman, Jr. Glad to see Nate get a little " extra lovin'" from ND, too.
February 23, 200916 yr I also wish the best for him where ever he goes. I just have to say it again "ANYWHERE BUT U$C!"
February 23, 200916 yr Its interesting that he got an offer now, last week his mom and dad were at Bonefish here in Mishawaka. Wonder if dad had a talk with Charlie??
February 23, 200916 yr Do you think Joe would want the offer, even if he knew his son had no interest in coming to school at ND?
February 23, 200916 yr his daughter is a senior and as you know, nate is a freshmen, im sure it was just a case of wanting to visit his kids
February 24, 200916 yr It's about time Mishawaka gets a decent restaurant! When I lived off Grape road the only thing we had was that Japanese steak house and a few things down town. Oh! I almost forgot! Snow!!!
