well i felt this one coming yesterday when i predicted peter thomas and montana two guys we hadnt offered as our two QB commits-- I KNOW- he wants to go his own way-- I KNOW there are alot of schools that like em-- I KNOW he has said he is no lock at all ,showing an urbanity born of disdain for an ND schollie-- BUT his name is MONTANA and after all the dust clears-- its going to be hard to resist the CALL OF THE IRISH!!!!

thanks, i've got to say that this has been my favorite forum to read, very little negativity unlike some of the others, I look forward to many good discussions!

You got that right Gettysburg, thats why Im here too. Scout is particularly negative. They even rip former players who try to post. Anyway welcome and thanks for bringing that great news. Charlie made the right move again.

Welcome to DD's! Sit back, crack open an ice cold Wexler's and enjoy the show. PS I felt the rumblings a couple of weeks ago. It looks like we did this offer for one of two reasons. #1. Heaps isn't a lock. 2. Nepotism. It would look especially bad if both Golic's get a ride and the Montana boys don't. Just have to be careful because before you know it. You have a ton of family but no Ballers! But C'mon! Their fathers ate steel and crapped nails for the Irish. We HAVE to offer them! :) The Montana kid we have here now looks remarkably like his dad. Watch the old man in games and then watch the boy in practice.

He has made it clear he isnt interested in ND. In all honesty, if he is as smitten with USC as I hear, then I dont want him.

Look into his individual stats. If his last name wasn't Montana, nothing would stand out.

I'm sorry to be sol bold but you have no clue what your talking about and saying he has no interest in ND is just plain false. You have such strong opinions about stuff that's all based on rumor and because people like you by into it you make something an issue and get other riled up over something that's not true.

As for Nick Montana, he might not be a 5 star super mega stud but he is one of the better QB's in the 2010 class and he's getting an offer because he deserves it and because he's a legacy. He's without question one of the best in California as well as on the West Coast.

I guess when he impresses at camps and combines it because of Joe, right according to you? If that's the case then why didn't Nate get more respect?

Whoa Tiger! :) It's all in fun here now. Remember, we are all just a bunch of fans and sometimes disagreements occur. I'm all for a Montana running the offense. He Just needs to be prepared to ride some pine whether here or at USC. Both are premier QB colleges. I don't think a QB HAS to be a 5 star to be good. A lot of boys don't really mature physically until they're 21. Most of the 5 star guys are either freaks of nature or they had their testosterone come in earlier than the rest of us.

I thought Montana was leaning towards O$U?

Ricochet, I don't understand what you're talking about. In interviews last year, Nick made several comments that suggested that he wanted the questions about attending ND to stop and that he was intersted in USC of all places. It wasn't hearsay and it wasn't secondhand knowledge. It was Q&A with him.

I have always lost interest in recruits who don't share the same excitement with an Irish offer.

There are several other comparable recruits who I would rather have for that reason. It is my opinion. That's all.
