This kid is really really good...

Featured Replies

you are correct, sir...................

why's that

All signs point to him playing for UW except for one.....if he was a lock to play for UW (his favorite team growing up), he would have committed already.

He may end up there, but I believe he will make sure this is the right decision for him first by looking at several schools (including ND).

ok but what are those signs?

I guess the biggest things are

He grew up a BIG UW fan.

He has stated that he always wanted to play there.

He has also said that he can picture himself playing QB there and being part of the turn around.

problem there is that QB's usually commit early, which he plans on doing. So he'll have to assume that a turnaround is in the works, site unseen.

k lets get this out right now. is he a UW fan? yes. has he said UW was his favorite? no. All you guys with zero inside info or guy who havent read any articles and just assume b/c that's what seems obv are the same ones who said Teo was going to USC. Why? b/c you believed that there was no way he would choose ND over a football powerhouse like USC. B/c you thought football was the most important thing in his life, and you were wrong. You guys were saying USC with no evidence at all. He hadnt even visited USC before and guys were saying Teo was a USC silent. Eric Shrive was an ND fan is whole life. He said in his area it was either you're an ND fan or a PSU fan and there was always bickering about it. He was speculated to not even want a PSU offer. What happened? As soon as PSU offered, he committed. It's recruiting, anything can happen. We dont know squat. Some you guys sound ridiculous every time I see a post, "It doesnt matter he's going to Washington". "He's all USC", "Poodle gets him again", etc. Heaps wants to decide in the spring, he should be visiting ND soon. He knows what CW has done with Tom Brady, BQ, & Clausen. Do I think he's an ND lock? not even close, I dont even think he comes to ND, but he's not even close to a UW lock. If he stays at UW, it'll be b/c he wants to be part of the turnaround & stay at home. That's why they go through the recruiting process, to see if they're comfortable enough elsewhere. He may very well end up at UW, but stop with BS that he's a UW lock. If he was a UW lock, he'd commit right now so he could help recruit for them. B/C that's what he wants to do for whatever school he chooses. WHICH MEANS, HE DOESNT KNOW YET.

agreed, and that recruiting class they pulled last season didnt help any.

I think Heaps likes Tenn b/c of Kiffin, BYU b/c of his faith, UW b/c it's his hometown, UCLA b/c of slick rick & norm chow (also LDS), and ND b/c of CW and our tradition.

I'd say this is prob his top 5. I have no idea, i'm just speculating, but he's not a UW lock by any stretch.

btw, just saw the highlights & i remember watching his state title game. the kid has poise like i havent seen before. never seems to get rattled. looks like he's playin out there on the street and the qb's not allowed to get sacked. also a strong runner. strong legs & tough to bring down. not tim tebow type running, but kinda like BQ where if u tried pulling him down by his legs or arm tackle then he could break lose. he's only 6'2, hopefully gets an inch or 2 b4 he grads HS, but he has the intangibles. Led the state title game from start til midway thru 4th quarter when the other team took the lead. What'd he do? Led his team right back down to go back ahead for good. The kid has that "it" factor. Hopefully he comes to ND, but I'd be surprised unless he feels he can beat out DC in 2 years.

Man......someone touched a nerve :-)

This is what I was saying with my first post in this thread. Most people assume he is going to UW because of what has been being spread around the net....but he hasn't committed anywhere and appears to be weighing his options.

This years recruits have almost a full year before LOI day. I know a few of the top QBs over the last couple years have committed early....but nothing says Heaps has to.

THANK YOU ZIGGY! This is how I feel. I'm tired of people giving up and moping when the kids don't even know where they're going yet. I'll never underestimate the power CW has when he goes into a living room and goes, "Oh yeah, you know that Tom Brady guy? That guy some say is the best ever? Yeah, I had a hand in that."

I like Heaps' mechanics as much as his poise. He looks like freakin' P. Manning out there.

Hopefully he comes to ND, but I'd be surprised unless he feels he can beat out DC in 2 years.

Would Heaps go on a mission? If so doesn't that make it easier to sell regarding DC?

Totally agree... thanks Ziggy for the rant. :D
