this guy got his offer wednesday-- sort of an interesting recruit-- he's a monster-- 6/6-- 265 right now-- god only knows where that ends up---6/7 310 pound rush end-- LOL--- anyhow he is a catholic boy from new jersey-- and he's being recruited by frank verducci-- really good to see that- he is suppose to be great recruiting that area , his family,s roots our there and reputation. ---the other very note worthy thing is that this giant kid has only been playing for 1 year-- so hes a JUST BLOOMER-- and except for maryland and rutgers-- we are first on jumping on a player that may really turn out to something special in the recruiting world by fall--- his coach expects him to get over a dozen more offers once he catches the recruiters attention--- personally i like these kind of players -- just starting and playing great--makes you wonder if youve stumbled onto the motherload-- in any case a nice recruit to follow for several reasons! aloha

The description of him is his body is college ready right now. Has a real similar storyline to Anthony Lalota IMO.

They are really getting after it with offers at the end spots - though we don't know if he outgrows anything into a DT spot, quite possible.

Sounds like he could grow into an O tackle spot. ;)

After first reading just the headlines and first comments in I Eyes, I thought we had the #1 shot w him. After reading the article through, I get the feeling the coach is more of the ND booster, but the kid just considers ND another offer. He was quick to tell the reporter that he liked the offer, but just because he was at the Catholic HS, did not put ND above everyone else. He would consider ND along w any other schools out there that offer. He also sounded like he wanted to stick close to home.

After saying that, I still like our chances w the Jersey connection and Verducci involved. But there definately is no slam dunk w this kid coming, IMO. Time will tell. I know I would love him to come. (In a non-homo kind of love ;).

A lot of these kids say the right things just to keep their options open. Too early to know what he really wants IMO.

great point with the Verducci comment. IMO CW did this so he didnt have to emphasize most of his time with the NJ recruiting. Having another NJ guy gives CW more time working on other recruits and being from Jersey I know that NJ people usually feel a connection just being from the same state. Kinda weird, but it's true.

agreed plus it's all new to him. he does attend a Catholic school though which always helps.

Uh-Oh, not again, thx Chris! : )

i love these jersey guys (partly because i am one). they aren't products of private coaching like the silver spooners out in cali and the all year round guys in texas or florida. I've said it before, i just get the feeling that they are further from their ceiling than other guys like the Brown brothers from Kansas who have been training for years to become college players. They are just kids growing up playing sports because it's fun and when they happen to be good at it they get noticed.

if they are this good already imagine when they start to focus on footbal like it's a job.

There's nothing silver spoon about L.A. City Section football.

clearly i painted with too broad a brush, but you get my point

They're soft...that's vacation weather out there.

They can't help where they're born, only be thankful for it. ;)

What is this, a Joisey only thread?

LOL
