I just realized that Dayne Crist will most likely be the 2nd string QB this coming season. I actually hope we blow some (or a lot) opponents out of the water so I can see #10 on the field. That would be exciting; kinda how when we first saw Jimmy on the field

hey franco-- just realized eh-- youve been working too hard- LOL----yes the GREAT DAYNE-- will not only be #2 he will play alot-- this wont be sharpley-----jimmy played at BC with the flu-- and we saw the result--- something like that occurs again it wont be this reasoning-- well half a jimmy is better then a sure loss--it will be this reasoning -- time to saddle up dayne!!--- last time i saw the BIG GUY throw it was that gorgeous touchdown to floyd in the AA game---- and ill perdict youll see another long beauty to neon deion in the B&G game----this is what it takes to be top ten-- good players down the depth chart-- and thats what we have!

Personally....I hope we see DC play the entire 4th Q of the Nevada game.

I really hope he plays in the 4th Q, in every game.

yes it is...

Just think though, since the last game, we're already about 20% of the way to the next season.:D

I wouldn't mind seeing Dayne start. Maybe he can hit some of the guys in the middle of the field versus always going to the deep option.

PS - Tim Tebow still sucks. I didn't get to respond to the other responses, but the kid isn't a winner. His team is a winner. He is merely the product of a well run college offense, much like Eric Crouch or Alex Smith. Two guys who couldn't make it in the NFL, because they are products of college offenses. I wouldn't love him if he were at ND, because he is annoying. The problem with many players from Tebow to T.O. is that they don't know how to shutup and just play the game. Answer the questions the media asks and move on like Marvin Harrison. Anyway, just figured I would respond quickly in a qb thread. Tebow isn't great. Many quarterbacks have been successful in that system, but it doesn't mean they are great quarterbacks. It means the system they play in is great for them. Tebow can't throw for crap. How many of his INTs were unforced? Most. Is Tee Martin a great qb? No, but Peyton Manning is. Who has a national title? Who has a Super Bowl?

thanks for letting us know that you have no clue in talent evaluation. comparing Tebow to Tee Martin haha.

n we're talking about College here, not how they do in the NFL. Tebow is a GREAT college QB.

I know, all 4 of them were unforced. Get a clue man. The kid has 11 INTs in 3 years. Granted his first year he only had 33 attempts (1 INT).

now now ziggy, be nice---afterall tebow is from florida and its permissable to see the players and the coach as sucking--lol-- irrespective of how they play-- as far as tebow goes-- hes sort of an ugly QB-- playing in an offense that personally looks pretty ugly to me-- watching the QB constantly charging the line is very unaesthetic IMO-- I dont like it- i prefer many other looks including ours--- BUT bottomline-- you are absolutely correct tebow is a great college QB-- id say the best since VINCE YOUNG who also could drive a team and did almost by himself---in fact although most experts concurr tebow doesnt have the skills to play in the NFL as a QB--- i just am not convinced of that at all-- sometimes the experts views are far from accurate-- drew brees is too short----chad pennington is washed up--matt cassel cant be the answer--- etc etc etc--ill wait till at least the combine and draft to see!

Hate the school, hate the coach, hate the media anointing him as a "god". As a college QB he goes down as 1 of the best. Why ????? Will to WIN and refusal to lose. Will he be great or good in the pros ?? Who knows, but the guy has a chance to lead his school to 3 National Championships so I got to say he is a damn good college QB.

lol im just throwing facts at the guy. I hate Florida too, but I would love to have a kid like Tebow playing for ND.

Chris Leak's senior year when Florida won a NC, Leak threw for 23 TDs and had 13 INTs.

Tebow's soph year, Tebow threw for 32 TDs and had 6 INTs.

Tebow's junior year, Tebow threw for 30 TDs and had 4 INTs.

And to add to wave's BS, just b/c Alex Smith didnt pan out in the pros doesnt meant he wasnt a good college QB. That's what you have to get out of your head. Brady Quinn hasnt done jackshit in his 1st 2 years as a pro, does that have anything to do with his college career? same goes with Tee Martin who had a great year in '98. That doesnt take away from Peyton Manning who was a great college QB & now a great Pro QB.

Joe Flacco couldnt beat out Tyler Palko and whoever his backup was at Pitt in college, but went on to transfer to Delaware and got noticed his Sr year when Delaware went on a run. Flacco's now starting for the Ravens and Palko is on the Saints practice squad. This just goes to show you that it could go either way with College and the NFL. Sometimes they're just great college players and other times they're late bloomers

hey hey...I leave for a couple of hours, and my thread gets hijacked, haha

anyway, I can't wait to see what Crist can do. It will most likely be during garbage time, but it's exciting nonetheless

Did i miss something?? This is from left field!! I couldn't disagree more.. Tebow is a stud College Qb, and what do we have to base his career on??? COLLEGE !!!,, I don't think he will be a good NFL QB, but to say he sucks is a joke..

I to, find myself rooting against guys like him and Favre and Tyler H. etc..,, the media has a suck fest with these guys like Tebow, and it makes me want to hate them.. Like Zig said he has 11 career INT's !!!!!!! How many NC does he have.... I think Wave is joking around guys...

definitely a heck of a football player..but man, his throws are UGLY..and I'm not talking about when they it's duck-billing in the air. I have never seen him throw a pass to a receiver in stride...The receiver literally stop in his tracks and backs up to catch his passes. But since they're so damn fast, they've passed the CB's and safety's long ago, can still make the catch and still run away with it. It's the craziest thing...
