Brown was also promoted to take over the entire defense and now Tenuta will be calling the plays on defense...

Than you so much for finding this Speedster. :) Warms my heart to get an update.

Does anyone know where we can watch the presser? I tried und.com but they didn't appear to be there.

Is anyone else confused? How is no longer calling plays a promotion? Sounds like a demotion to me...

I have said it before. Two D coordinators cannot work. One of them needs to go.

Yeah, I don't see Brown sticking around much longer if this is the case...which will really hurt in recruiting...

I don't think that CW planned on Brown sticking around too long anyway - which is probably why we brought JT in. Brown has head coach written all over him and IMO this will probably be his last year at ND.....

Agreed.....

i think you guys are reading too much into this--- there is a free article just up on rivals witha followup interview on this exact point--- weis said absolutley not a demotion-- that it was corwins idea since they are short a coach with charlie being now the OC-- charlie said he would never do anyhting to leave corwin unhappy-- that corwin is HIS GUY-- and they have been talking about this adjustment for awhile--- so this is not a case of too many cooks-- in fact without an OC it may be a case of not enough cooks--- feel free to post a link to the article-- its a very thorough reassurance that corwin was not offended or demoted AT ALL

any insight on who Charlie's number 2 guy might be now that we missed Crennel?

I like what Verducci said about the O line.

His attitude gives me a ton of hope for next season.

If the line can get it's act together, we could see some incredible offensive play next season.

There's way too much talent, including the line, on offense for us not to be great.

I think it's going to run with Brown being, essentially, the Head Coach of the defense, and Tenuta being the play-caller. Kind of like Weis with Haywood last year. If Charlie is in the booth, Brown will become the de facto head coach on game days. If Weis is on the sidelines, then Brown will just be the defensive hc.

yes, since CW is the HC he has to oversee offense & defense, but now he's appointed Corwin as the Associate HC so he can oversee the defense since CW is back to being the OC. That is why it's a promotion not a demotion. Corwin & Tenuta are still going to be going over the gameplan etc, but Tenuta will call the plays. Kind of how CW went over everything with Haywood, then Haywood called the plays. Tenuta & Ianello are the Assistant HC's for Offense/Defense, which is lower then Associate HC.

I agree this will prob be Corwin's last year unless he wants to stay on and win a Nat'l Champ first. I know it's a stretch, but he might want to see this past year's frosh graduate and see how it goes. I'm sure he wants to be a HC though.

I'm really excited about the Alford & Verducci additions. The one knock on Latina was his adjustments & it seems like Verducci can see what the OL has to adjust by watching film without even working with them.

I love Corwin as a motivator & a recruiter, but Tenuta has a proven track record and I think our defense will make another leap forward this year.

it's certaily not a promotion for brown. they can paint it that way if they want. the silver lining for him is that he is getting more head coaching like duties it seems which will help if he's looking to land a HC job soon.

maybe ours. charlie looks like crap. i don't see him lastin' a whole lot longer..............
