yes yes whats new-- college football live-- which they run all year now--i think its mostly so they have some extra shows to dump all over the irish before next year-- well i turned in half way so i didnt get the name of the analyst-- hell they all look alike--- but to qoute the little twerp-- (OFFENSE INTENDED)--- jimmy is not the answer for notre dame ( forget the fact hes a soph or the 25 TDs or the rocket arm)-- forget all of it-- jimmy threw 17 interceptions he wont ever make ND a winner --case closed- forget about him- hes no good---- and if that wasnt enough he had one more assessment for the defense-- essentially except for a guy or two this year they recruited-- the ND defense is a bunch of bums!!------this was in my view an absolutley tortured- mean spirited analysis ---- the one thing they got right-- next year will tell the story--- I HATE ESPN

That was Tom Luginbill. I cant believe he tied a lot of NDs woes to Clausen. Thats not fair.

 

Brock Huard on college football live thinks he will take it to the next level in 09 like Brady Quinn. He also likes our chances to return to prominence this year.

interesting. It would be nice to juxtapose that lil segment with him singing Jimmy's praises as a recruit. ESPN is all about ratings. They can't get national ratings debating whether Oklahoma State's QB is a bum or not.

that guy really doesn't know what he's talking about. i think JC will live up to the recruiting hype in his final two years. JC has all the tools to be great all he needs now is a solid running game to help balance out the offense. he can read defenses, he can make all the throws, his accuracy is out of this world and he's throwing to some very good WRs and skilled players. im going to say it right now, JC will be better then BQ in his final two years hands down.

 

as for the defense i guess i really can't argue with what he said. i think ND is starting to bring in much better defensive talent, specially with these last two recruiting classes and also for 2010. i think in about 2-3 years NDs defense could be really good.

Those shows are crap, just mindless yapping by mindless individuals. I don't give a Rat's Ass what Luginbill, Holtz, May etc. have to say. The only way to shut them up is to win on the field and ND has not done that.

 

Stay positive and hope for the best. Lord willing and the creek don't rise, ND will be back on top.

i'd say that the jimmy bashing was a little pathetic, for a lack of a better word. not only that, but it was hilarious how he started by saying that charlie was playing against the odds the last 2 years playing with exclusively frosh and soph however that rule must not apply to jimmy (last time i checked he was a soph)... regardless he did make the point that charlie has done wonders in landing the skill players, however getting the guys in the trenches, specifically the dline (hurry up mr martin) he has struggled. maybe it's just me, but it seems that there are a fair amount of ignorant, or better phrased easily swayed individuals, who religiously listen and adhere to what they say (usually pertaining to the last 2 years of nd football) and cannot formulate an opinion for themselves. regardless, espn is good for 2 reasons: live sports and erin andrews (muted of course). other than that, just let them take their (cheap) shots while they can b/c sooner, rather than later, we will be laughing.

Guys, we all know why they say this stuff.... there are more ND fans out there (and on these boards) that will tune in to what they say, good or bad. It's a ratings machine. How many other 7-6 (2008/2009) college football teams are they talking about?

 

But yeah, I still hate ESPN! Sorry Lou!

With the running game and OL that he has had to work behind, it would be hard for anyone to be successful. I think Peyton Manning would look like a bum too if he had to play what JC has had to play behind...
