looks like he's in the process of transferring to the Hun School of Princeton in NJ (Tyler Stockton's HS).

I'm pretty sure that if he goes to the Hun school that he'll be eligible to graduate early and be an early enrollee next yr for ND.

Good news for us & him. He should def dominate

Wow.

If true, this is great. Gets away from Carroll and Neuheisal, while going to a great prep academy and gets ready to become an EE in South Bend. Here's hoping it all works out.

Indeed great news. As an EE, he will be able to contribute from day one.

One of the reasons he wanted to leave the area was to get away from Petey and Slick Rick. His final semester of HS will hopefully be stress-free like he wants.

Wow.. Martin's going to be a BEAST in NJ.. This is really good news.

Excellent! Any time a Cali kid commits this early I always get a little uneasy but between his comments and this move, there is no reason to believe that he's going anywhere else.

I'm always impressed when kids this age make life changing decisions with their potential careers in mind already. Martin as an EE would be huge.

If he's slated to play DE, I'm not sure if he'll be ready to play right away. He probably will, but its more than simply bulking up and learning the plays with Chris. He'll also be transitioning to DE from ILB in HS.

I like the EE development if for no other reason than less time spent recruiting him and more time on other prospects.

There is no way he plays DE in our system. He is a pass-rushing OLB, much like DeMarcus Ware for the Cowboys.

agreed, he'll be a Darius Fleming type which in essence is a 4-3 DE, but if anyone has seen his USC camp video, he has GREAT hands and uses his speed well in the pass rush.

he will be a pass rushing DE without a doubt.

Thats what I meant. I call the Ethan Johnson "DE" a DT, sorry for the confusion. There's no way we blimp Martin up to 300 pounds and loose all that athleticism.

Sorry for the confusion, but why does transferring to the Hun school allow him to EE but coming from Cali doesnt? I mean, obviously Jimmy enrolled early from Cali. Is it just to get out of Carrol's and slick Rick's backyard?

It probably doesn't make much of a difference. Unless he needs to take certain courses that only the Hun offers (maybe APs? I dunno, thats a bit of a stretch...). Otherwise, its probably just to get away from it all.

And you know, if that really is the motivating factor, then shame on the NCAA for not looking into an early signing period. If a kid has to pick up his life and move half way across the country just to have a little more peace and quiet, then you know the system needs fixing.

I think it would depend on the school and the ability to take summer classes or extra credits. He may have decided to go to NJ on the advice of ND's coaches...don't know that for a fact but it worked for Stockton so why not for Martin.
