Moore enjoys final visit

Defensive back Byron Moore (Harbor City, Calif./ Narbonne) took his third and final official visit this past weekend to Colorado and is now set to make his announcement this coming Wednesday.

As most know, Moore committed last spring to UCLA and then switched over to USC after picking up an offer from the Trojans at their summer camp. A few weeks go, Moore decided to de-commit from USC and visited Boulder after also visiting Notre Dame during the season.

"It was a great trip," Moore said. "The campus was beautiful, the players and coaches were all fun to be around and I can definitely picture myself playing at Colorado for the next four years of my life.

"The coaches are all about the players there and I have a good relationship with Coach Hagan who has been recruiting me for a while now. I loved my visit to Notre Dame too and now that I've taken this last visit, I can compare evenly all three of my final schools and lay out all the positives and negatives."

The third school in the mix Moore was referring to is USC. After de-committing, most assumed the Trojans were out of the running but Moore said that wasn't the case.

"USC is still in it for sure," Moore said. "I'm still in contact with them but I wanted to look at some other options too. I wanted to be respectful and I felt that if I'm going to look around, I should de-commit to be fair to the other schools and let them know I was serious about them.

"Coach Carroll told me he understood but also said he was going to keep fighting for me and I told him that was fine. Now I have a few days to look over everything and then I'll be ready to decide early Wednesday morning."

Moore is planning to announce live on ESPNU on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. ET

This is going to be a circus

Damn, I hate where recruiting/LOI has gone. I blame ESPN, but then I blame ESPN for a lot of the problems with sports including too many bowls.

I'd be surprised if SC were still in it for him too after his dad's comments about things he read online. You have to figure there's just too much bad water flowing under the bridge for him to go back to SC.

or maybe he goes back there b/c they're obv still recruiting him and he wants to prove he's not afraid of competition.

based on just pure speculation and gut feeling right now im thinking

Colorado 50% chance

ND 40% chance

USC 10%

Could be. I guess stranger things have happened.

He's gone. 9/10 of the sale is getting the person to take ownership of the product and he is picturing himself on campus already.

Kids say that about a lot of schools. Its a pretty common, generic phrase, not just one school and the rest they can't see it.

This will come down to PT first, grade rate second. If all things are equal with #1, Irish get him. If not, Colorado is my guess.

I just get a feeling Moore will sign with us. I may totally eat those words on Wednesday, but I'm hoping not :)

Damn NSD cannot come soon enough.

I don't know if I want this kid... Every kid out there that is like this turns out to be a punk. Look at Barksdale, Chris Little, Vidal Hazelton, etc. If this kid comes here, he will either transfer out or be cancer, I'm afraid... I hope I'm wrong.

If early PT is an issue, ND can provide it. By the time Moore is a Sophomore in 2010 he could be starting. Assuming Motta plays LB and Slaughter plays CB, S will be wide open with only Harrison Smith and Dan McCarthy to compete with. Getting Moore or Starling would be huge for this class not only for their talent but to help fill the depth/need for the team. After Kyle McCarthy 5th year and Sergio Brown graduate, the S spot is going to be thin. So I'll throw my 2 cents out there and say Moore is Irish come Wednesday and I hope Starling is right behing him.

Wow guys! He had a good visit, you'd expect that. I'd be shocked if we didn't get him. Calves said everything I'm thinking.
