i am really in a friday recruiting funk---i need signing day to put a mercy killing into this years recruiting--kiffen having a big impact with the vols--tennesee and kiffen have 17 commits-- and for this end of year recruiting weekend they have a whopping 17 visitors as many as we have for upcoming jr day-- we have 17 commits and the only visitor we will have is a recruit going to another school to visit (oliver) -- mmmmmm -- i think i'm ready to cry uncle and head to next year!

I hate to be rude but you really need to sack up and enjoy the ride, we'll win some and lose some but your starting to sound like a whiny little girl.

You seem to love recruiting and i like reading your posts but hang in there Hawaii..

Gil..

Welcome Gil to DD.

Yeah... Times aren't quite as desperate as they once were when we were ecstatic about a 4 star and hoping we didn't lose one member of a ten man class.

this class is starting to shape up.

Teo has us in his top 4

Starling loved his visit as did his fam and he loves Corwin

Gaffney cancels USC trip and is announcing monday

Moore decommits from USC & names ND as his leader along with LSU & Colorado

only bad news is Oliver visiting Tenn, odds are he's gone, but it's just a visit so far. We'll see what happens

i think gaffney is most likely stanford-- teo moore and starling-- all great and good players-- i hope we get one to offset oliver-- but you have to admit this year unlike last year our recruiting has gone the same way the end of the season did-- we were #8 once upon a football time and as our team and our coach and our fans all tanked things have been rocky to say the least-- i didnt mind the downgrading of some of our recruits -- parr for the course--the pollard decommit was one of those things but it was tolerable with so much time left--it was a little disturbing to see two last game injuries one to our parade all american watt the other to our only DB left banks-- it has been a little demoralizing that we have had no commits in 3 months--yes, what can you expect with the fiasco we had at the end-- but given our stellar game in the hawaii bowl and the vote of confidence in charlie, i was hoping for a tiny pick up not more problems---so now its oliver back to tennessee---yes i will feel much better if we get teo-- or anyone -- but to be frank recruting this january ive been getting the same feeling of the second half of the syracuse game-- we could still pull it out but it just doesnt feel like a strong close of any kind is in the cards this year!--- next year another story yes yes yes so im not walking the plank just the drip drip got to me a bit-- maybe its just my time of the month

going off ur last sentence, i think it may be lol. after the hawaii win you were the bright spot on this board knowing that pollard was prob leaving and odds were we wouldnt add anyone. knowing that we'll prob add 1 more recruit of the (gaffney, starling, teo, moore crew) you wouldnt trade off oliver for 1 of these? Now Oliver is a great recruit and I sure hope he's still Irish, but we're no diff in recruiting then we were after that Hawaii win.

thanx ziggy-- have to remember my mission statement-- lol-- always see the glass as half full---- its very overcast and gloomy on the island today-- so maybe thats made me overreact--its funny cause theres alot of excitment on some boards over the moore statement-- some positives on teo-- the gaffney cancellation of the usc visit etc-- and me im the voice of gloom-lol-- hope its all misdirected anxt-- maybe i had a crush oliver or something and didnt realize it till he saw the other gal---anyhow ill go take a chilly afternoon swim and try to straighten up and fly right!! aloha

If you look at the UT visit list for the weekend they have 5 wr's on it, I think this will play a big factor in what Oliver does. Because they will not take 5 wr's in one class...

Alshon Jeffrey

James Green

Damien Thigpen

Marsalis Teague

Petey Smith

also I see where Marlon Brown is coming according to Espn

They already have verbal commits from Stokes and Green, sounds like Ole Miss type recruiting where you offer everyone and throw all of them at the wall and see who sticks.

Hopefully Stokes sticks with his recruitment, but he's on his way out. If Stokes stays, I doubt Oliver leaves.

Hey ziggy, but wouldn't his offer be withdrawn if he does visit according to CW's policy?

Great composure on your part, if someone had called me a,"starting to sound like a whiny little girl." and that was their first post, I'd be alittle miffed. Not trying to start anything, just saying.

Nope, has never ben said. CW said, "If you are looking, we are looking." that's all nothing more, if a commit goes on visits then we may offer another recruit for the same position and if that recruit accepts then the "shopping commit" could likely lose their spot but Charlie isn't pulling schollies, he just may not hold it.

thanx for composure comment mudskipper--for a moment i thought of posting a witty ,sarcastic, comment about the little fellas 1st post-- but since my wife calls me a " whiny little girl " so often, i guess i figured maybe he was right!!

-- maybe its just my time of the month

You do not sound like a "whiney little girl" -- you just need a pamprin and a snicker bar.;)

Thanks for the clarification. Wasn't sure how the policy worked.
