they did............
LOL.

Here's the real question. Why is it that JoePa can get his team to perform and CW can't? Paterno doesn't really coach IMO, he's out of touch with everyone there, and everyone expects him to leave shortly or when he dies.

And yet he wins games, never against OSU, but he manages with only his son by his side, and with a simplistic offense.

I'm dumbfounded, and don't even mention Turner Gill. :-D

JoePa hired quality assistants and lets them run the show. We do not have quality assisants, and CW does not let them run the show.....yet.

As a follow up....JoePa was put on the hot seat a few years back when PSU was crap. At the time, he was much like CW and did a lot of everything. His assistants were not doing much outside of position coaching. JoePa pretty much handed over the entire team to his assistants, and now he walks the sidelines (or sits in the pressbox) trying not to poop on himself again.

CW is in much the same place (minus the need to run off the sidelines to change his pants), and I believe he is going to make a very similar change. I fully expect CW to go back to being an offensively focused coach with the primary job function of coaching the QBs. His assistants will be given more room to do "their" thing, and we will be better for it.

On a side note, I really like that team PSU put on the field this year. They kind of reminded me of ND's '88 team in terms of playing great defense, a mobile QB who was pretty solid with the run and pass, a very good running game and an electric special teams returner.

Just an observation.

they did............

I have a picture of me feeding that statue a beer from last year!

Don't worry...I gave him my buddy's cheap crap. Keystone Light is for people that don't like to get drunk....they just like to pee a lot. LOL.

screw them...........

LOL....I am starting to see a pattern.

i thought that's how the big 11 works, they use officiating to rotate the conference title and optimize chances for a second BCS team?

Correct me if I wrong, but I believe there was news earlier this year that Joe Pa makes about 500K a year. That is way cheap for a head coach, and Joe Pa doesn't really expect more money than that. He just loves being the head coach at Penn State. Why not keep him around for a few more years???

Penn St. isn't consistently good. They seem to be good once every 3 or 4 seasons. I don't think anyone here would be satisfied with that for ND.

It's a good thing they gave it to him now because I think they will struggle next year. They are one of the most Senior laden teams in the country, if not the most. It will be interesting to see how they perform in 2010.

I hope they play as well as that '88 team did in their bowl game.

I'm going to be wearing some PSU gear when the boys come to town to take on this condom team.
