ND 38-28...late TD catch on a quick pass to Tate seals the deal

a dominating performance by the irish will cheer everyone up! -- the team will play its most complete game of the year- better late then never-- ND 34-UH17

Hawaii- looking at you for the best breakdown of Hawaii on o and d, as you have seen them all year. Any specific details you can throw out for us to expect from the Warriors?

quite an optimistic bunch! Vegas begs to differ... is this easy money?? :-)

on offense the best thing the rainbows do -- are a host of little run and shoot style short passes--thats usually in the 10 yard range but because of the oddities of the run and shoot the patterns are deceptive and tricky-- lots of little crossing routes that can get the linebackers confused-- if they catch em in space they can get 10 15 20 yards-- its the bread and butter for this team--this years crop of recievers are not even on the same league as last years which have all gone -- two of em to the NFL--they shouldnt be able to beat our corners on long routes---the QB alexander-- has shown some pretty fair accuracy and some gritty play but he is very inexperienced--DOES NOT REACT WELL TO PRESSURE---remember the run and shoot has no tight end so i have to believe tenuta will find a way to get around especially our left tackle to at the minimum cause poor throws--- rainbows have zero running game-- they do use that shuttle pass good-- and the draw out of the shotgun is standard fair--- the key is to play tight to the line-- if the defense plays soft the run and shoot will find alot of openings but if the backers and safties and corners all play up and tight the offense doesnt really have the skill guys to go over the top!!__--- on defense the best thing is an active experienced front seven-- small backers like adam leanard and solomen eliminium lead the defense---in my opinion it should be very productive to pass fairly deep against the bows the safeties and corners are not as good as the front seven-- they do swarm the ball like a bunch of little tasmanian devils so running early in the game will be iffy for our team--- our crappy screen passes will actually work becuase the bows overpursue to compensate for the size difference--the proper gameplan will be wide open on offense jimmy floyd , tate and especially rudolph should have big days-- the bows have no tight end and have noone experienced in covering a big fast tightend like kyle-- he should really play a role--look for the reverse to tate to bust WIDE OPEN--- going against the flow gets big yards--- on defense you have to bully the bows offense the way a desperate cincy team did in the 4th-- play aggressive and tight and dont give alexander or the recievers much respect and we should give them alot of problems-BUT IF YOU play back and cover then the run and shoot can be very effective---we match up very well against this team--- no running game-- no real burners-- not the best secondary!!

Thanks Hawaii.

Thanks Hawaii, great post and finally some positive info..... We rally need to get this Bowl monkey off our back.

Go Irish.

Let's see. The Irish lost to Syracuse, almost lost to Navy, and the SDSU game could have gone either way. Weis is still the head coach, no changes have been made concerning the coaching staff. Plus the Irish haven't won a bowl game since Jesus Christ was a young lad. All signs point to an Hawaii victory.

So I'm going with Notre Dame for the win. Let's say 31-27.

34-28 Irish God willing.

I think ND wins but I can't believe how many points you guys are predicting we put up. Now, I know we get Floyd back but did you watch our offense the second half of the season?

I'm going with ND 23, Hawaii 17.

defensivly i think ND should play a pretty good game. hawaii's OL is probbly the worst OL that ND has faced all season (perhapes even worse then washingtons), if this is true then ND should get all sorts of pressure on the QB. if NDs OL can protect jimmy then i think he could have a big game, i just hope the time off allowed ND to become more prepared and focused.

Notre Dame - 38

Hawaii - 17

ND - 45

Hawaii - 17

Let's see, 30 days without a game, and going back to the opener in 2006 here is how ND has fared with 2 weeks or more to prepare:

2006 Georgia Tech - Won a squeaker in Atlanta with Heisman candidate Quinn and the experienced juniors and seniors we always long for by scoring a whopping 14 points

2006 UCLA - With 2 weeks to prepare for a tough UCLA defense the offensive genius scored 13 points with 55 seconds left for Brady and the boys to bail him out

2006 LSU - Blown out and only scored 14 points

2007 Georgia Tech - Blown out and only scored 3 points

2007 Navy - You know what happened and the significance of this one

2008 SdSt - Made a statement by beating a future 2-10 team 21-13

2008 Washington - Miraculously beat the 11 pt spread by winning 33-7

That's 4-4 Straight up and 1-7 against the spread. We're getting 2 points in this game. I would love to see us snap the streak but these types of games are so much about coaching with having a long layoff. I see the D keeping us in this game but Jimmy and the O coming out flat again.

Hawaii 20 ND 16

Your Hawaii 20 ND 16, is interesting, Your the unblinking eye of reality. Since we've only beaten one top 25 team in four years, you are probably close to the mark. Still I think we squeak out a narrow victory. ND 17 Hawaii 13.
