Just read in the paper that Dan Mullen, Urban Meyer's long time Offensive Coordinator of 14 years, accepted the job to be Mississippi State's new head coach. I believe Mullen was known to be the one to develop UM's offense to be what it is today. If UM is really great, they shouldn't skip a beat. But you have to wonder how losing such a valuable long-time colleague will affect UM and his program....

The reason I do not want Urban actually has little to do with Weis. People forget that he has been one of the shadiest coaches in college football over the last few years....and I do not want that guy representing the university that I love so much.

Maybe one day I will get to the point that all that matters is Wins and Losses.....but I am not there yet and I have been a fan since birth.

See I don't think Meyer is any worse than anyone else. I think he gets flak because he wins. I don't mean all Catholics are good people when I say this but I think he's a good catholic guy. He obviously loves his family and let his daughter sign away to Georgia Tech. Tebow calls him a good father figure. I think he's a much better person than people like to say.

Remember a couple years ago when Weis was winning and a couple coaches tried to say he committed recruiting violations? I do. They were found to be false but there is always going to be that side of the game. I mean, as soon as Kiffen got hired at Tenn. Spurrier called him out on a violation of calling a recruit the day before he was hired. It's gonna happen.

Him going to Florida isn't shady either. He was already about to sign with them by the time ND called so this notion that he lied to us is garbage. We should feel lucky we're his dream destination. It's not like he stabbed us in the back or anything. I think he loves ND. Him stealing recruits is just him doing his job. I would hope he would steal florida's recruits for us one day. The recruits make the final decision too. It's not like he forces them away.

I understand his decision to go to Florida, and respect him for that. I do not think that was shady at all.

I think he is a fantastic coach, and outside of guys named Pete Carroll he may be the best coach in football right now. I just do not like the way he goes about business and I think he would be a bad fit at ND.

Up until a few weeks ago, UM was probably the most hated coach on this board (and many other teams as well). I know a lot of this has to do with him being successful (on the field and on the recruiting trail) but a lot of it is also because of what he is willing to do to win a game / get a recruit.

Urban is piping up smoke to get more money from Florida. IMO

Agreed Schell/:)

that, and the fact that his wife ain't moving to south bend...................

She already lived here for 4 years. I never read anything to allude to the fact that she wasn't happy. It's not like Gainesville is a beach comber's paradise either. Is it warmer in the winter....of course. But Gainesville is painfully hot during the summer. That's just as bad, trust me...I've spent plenty of time in the area.

just so you know um was offered the nd position two days before florida got to him , if it was a dream job as he says he should have accepted, the money was better at nd, but the recruting and the academics are much harder to recruit at nd , so he came up with this florida job and now he is just trying to get a few more bucks , i can say this , um will never coach at ND has gone . because he turned us down . a few people in the ------- know this , end of story , nuff said on mr um . let him go elsewhere. , i don't care for the way he s-d us before , lets see what he does after tebow is gone and the real master of the florida offense. sorry to bust anyones bubble , but some of us know the true story , go irish sorry coaster just had to put this out . ask sj he can vouch

I think my wife and your wife must be related.

LOL!!!! When I was driving up for the Syracuse game, my woman had the heat on full blast the whole way (about 5 hours). I now know why dogs hang out of windows.....women are in the car and "cold".

Ha Ha. I turn my heat off at night and use 2 blankets. It's 22 here, I put heat on briefely, but have a throw over legs and shoulders. Just something I do.
