Has any one herd if CW has been interviewing any coaches for the Offense side of the Ball yet? Sounds like we are going to replace at least three..And I hope he brings in some high profile coaches.

I havent heard anything yet about when changes will be made. Does anyone know when these types of changes are normally made? is it normal to wait until after the bowl game or even after signing day?

I havent seen any sources that say any coaches have been let go yet.

i would specualte that the search has begun by charlie and whoever is helping him-- initial contacts and inquiries will be made promptly but quietly---although its possible haywood may leave there wont be any new coaches announced till after the bowl-- i would expect a new offensive coordinator will be announced early january---- that may actually help recruiting--- latina will go but i expect that to happen officially later afte signing day---any other changes powlus mendoza etc-- would take place by march

I just pray that we bring in an offensive coordinator/o-line coach that can help us turn our running game around. That's the biggest priority this offseason, much bigger than any recruit we could ever get. Having a reliable rushing attack would making JC so much better. Yes he makes terrible reads at times, but ultimately not a single one of our opponents feared our rushing attack. Every defense we faced was keyed up on stopping our passing game.

it's obv changes will be made though. CW wouldnt comment on whether or not all of his coaches would be with him for the bowl which means they wont.

Charlie has maintained in the past he has a "short list" of coaches if one goes down. Time to use it.

We all know Haywood is already gone. I doubt he'll fire Latina before the bowl. They are friends.

Time to redo the "short list"

I think its time to break the bank on the assitants. Its infinitely cheaper than firing Charlie.

I don't care if CW is friends with Latina or not, one or both of them need to go. The source I have (in the AD) said that changes would be made, and that the buyout was in the ~$20 million range, which partly affected CW staying.

I've heard rumblings that the University didn't want to have another embarassing coaching search on its hands so soon. It's not so much about the money for Notre Dame because they certainly have it. But there were rumblings that those who were making endowment pledges didn't want to see the $ constantly going to clean up the mess of each of the football coaching failures.

There's going to be some major changes. Its sort of a last ditch attempt to right this ship. Get ready.

Yeah, the Syr game pretty much cemented the fact that CW would have to shake up the staff. Corwin and Tenuta just might be the only two that are safe at this point.

Clearly Latina is gone.

Thats what Ive heard as well. The defensive coaches have been doing a decent job with little (meaning young talent or little talent). The offense on the other hand has been doing little with a good talent/experience mix. Brown/Tenuta are the cream of the entire coaching staff.

Sounds good to me.

Anybody have an good suggestions for a new OC or O-line coach. I think that those are two positions where coaches would make "lateral" moves to the same position because it's Notre Dame. We may not be competing at a high level right now, but we still get a lot of exposure and if you can help bring success to the team, then you will probably get a lot of credit for it.
