I know he said he wasn't committing until signing day but if he committed early, as in before the bowl game, what do you think the effect on the program would be? Would it be a moral game-changer?

Oh, he might commit early but it wont be to us. After witnessing that debacle Im certain we are out of the picture.

No effect. A recruit is a recruit. When he gets on campus, he's just another slap like the rest of the players. They don't care enough to change their morale.

I'm not kidding that the kid will have no impact on the way we come out for our bowl game. He isn't going to change the morale of the team. He's just another teammate among many kids who were ranked highly by recruiting services. The players don't put as much emphasis on recruiting as fans do.

maybe not the seniors, but the younger kids do. why do you think they look for these kids on myspace and facebook and strike up relationships with them. they want as much talent as possible.

I want some new leadership to develope. I take that back we had none this year. so... ANY leadership.

i think we have to face reality here-- things have changed for us---- we stunck it up guys-- we all trashed the coach as well as every sports pundit on both radio and tv-- article after article about our mess!!!------lets just hope we can hold on to the recruits we have--- there will not be any more high profile commits--- that ship sailed and i doubt next year will be anywhere near as easy as or good as we hoped 6 weeks ago--- things changed--- until next october-- and we open with 3 or 4 in a row-- that could right the ship quickly--- but until that--- just hope there arent many decommits or transfers

I don't think things are that drastic. Yes, in our little circle, we feel these effects; but most people aren't us and don't pay as much attention. We'll be fine. 2010 is already lined up and ready to go. The sky isn't falling. If Ed Freaking Orgeron can get kids to go to Ole Miss, even when they were awful, Charlie can get kids to come to Notre Dame for the prestige, education, and history, on top of the potential for success. There is more to the recruiting process than media reports or fans yelling about the coach, though they should be careful about doing so.

I stood by Weis and still do. I know the bickering among fans did not help. It was pretty much 50 - 50 for and against Weis here at DD, our site. How that affects recruiting remains to be seen.

Now, I'm not saying we get him but I think we are much more of a player here than most of you are giving us credit for. Weis just had an in home visit with Teo and he and his family had great things to say about ND and Weis. While I think the odds are that he goes somewhere eles, I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear him announce for ND.

Maine sucks not because of the environment but the leadership. People move here to get welfare because they hand it out like the government hands out bailout money.
