So I've just heard that an announcement may come as early as tomorrow. I've heard some other pretty crazy things as well such as Holtz coming back. I'm just throwing out everything I've heard. This rumor just came from a friend who works in the athletic department, but he is only an intern. Therefore, I am not putting too much stock into it, but he sticks to it. I know I haven't posted much, but I am just trying to pass as much info as possible.

Swarbrick and Charlie are not meeting until next Monday so I don't expect anything until one week from tomorrow.

Actually if you knew who I was, you would think otherwise. My family is well known in South Bend as we own many businesses in the area and I don't think I'd jeopardize the success we've had. If I said Holtz is back, what would you say;)

I have my cousins wife that works well within the athletic dept at ND and handles major donors tickets (the gold seats for those wondering) and her and her husband have told us absolutely nothing yet about any rumblings. The person who got her the job at ND worked directly under Kevin White while he was there. I am telling you, if she knows nothing, then there is nothing yet! Believe it or not, this is the truth and I don't care what this guy above me posting has been saying, it's not happening tomorrow bro!

Well anyways, it is fun to speculate and think what possibly could happen. Supposedly Holtz was seen on campus on Wednesday and agreed to coach for 1 or 2 years until they find a better replacement. Don't shoot me, I'm just trying to inform some people of the things I am hearing around here.

I am saying that I believe nothing will happen tomorrow and if it does it will be a mere coincidence making you look like you actually do have inside info. I have info on who the generous donors are and I also have info on those names you'd be surprised at who give practically nothing. I'd love to share this with you guys, but have to protect her best interests and keep this info confidential. If I had a freakin dollar for every guy who has come here with a rumor in the past 12-24 hours, I could but out CW's contract. That's not mine, that is someone else's from another message board, but I thought it was hilarious.

Yea, giving out the names of donors could be very very bad. Best to stay away from that.

actually i would have hoped that some kind of decision - statement of support-- or something else - would come sooner rather then later--- what the decision is -- who knows-- one mans educated guess is as good as another mans rumor so its mostly nervous speculation--- but if not tomorrow -- i hope its soon-- and definative one way or another-- this hanging on with the national chatter the rumors the recruits-- THIS HAS TO END SOON

unless you hear something concrete or from another link then keep it to yourself jump. it's just going to start stuff with other members, if you think it's fun to speculate then that's obv all you're doing. no truth to what you're spreading, just speculation like others have told you. so come to us when you hear something concrete and stop spreading BS.

Happy Birthday, Speedster! That was my Dad's bday, too. Mine was on Thanksgiving Day. My Mom hated me, because I was born on Thanksgiving so many years ago. My dad made her spaghetti. Then, made her cook a turkey when she found the energy. Ha.

Swarbrick is traveling this week in Cali and he would be the one to make any announcement, if there is any to be made. If you listen to what Swarbrick has been saying, then you would know this. Nice try jumpman.

Didn't Lou offer to step in after the Willingham fire, and that admins passed on him then? Why would they do it now? I think Lou needs to stay right where he is ... on ESPN, putting that a**hole Mark May in his place.

 

I don't know if anyone saw on Saturday night where Lou was desperately showing his passion for Notre Dame and Mark May thought he was Johnny Cochrin or something, spitting out ridiculous one-liners ... I really really hate that man.

IF Lou was on campus Wednesday, my guess is he was trying to get a better look at his new statue without all the people around. Guess #2 is he was doing some early holiday shopping at the bookstore.

 

I agree with you all that Swarbrick's comments were the most reliable to go on at this point. The other stories that have come out have been manufactured to create something out of nothing. It was pretty telling by his comments that Swarbrick is in no hurry to meet with Weis - he said they would meet when they are both in town and when it's convenient AS THEY TYPICALLY DO - and then the headlines start flowing like a decision on his fate is imminent a week from today.
