It appears Coach Weis is out Bill-ing Bill Belichick in the information department. "Were not in the business of passing on information." Coach Weis explained. And there is that word "business" popping up again.

 

If you want information now you see the head man as what does an 18 year old kid know?

 

If anything it puts everyone writing about Notre Dame on the same page and same level from professional sportswriters to all us fans.

 

If you heard a loud click during the Weis interview it was all the 'smooth insiders' being shut out.

"Business" is the key word without question. I would also add "professionalism" as well. Those are 2 words that you couldn't use in the same sentence describing ND and keep a straight face. Now that is the way of life. More than the leaves are about to change in South Bend my faithfull Irish friends.

I agree. Coach Dan just informed me that ND's coaching staff has over 200 years of experience in either College or Pro Ball.

 

I replied 200 years? We then match JoePas's age.

I always loved JoePa and Penn St. but he needs to go out while he's ahead. I want to remember him for the great coach he is and not the coach getting his tail handed to him and complaining about the officials.

Yeah! It is sad. I know he wants to go out winning. But a coach and player must realise when the time comes their best years are now behind them. It is hard for some to let go.

 

This is why I admire Coach Weis he said 10 year and I think means it. Plenty of time to prepare Notre Dame for a transition of power to another Head Coach.

 

But one does want to see a legend walk off into the sunset as just that.

We playn PSU next year and I really want to see him in ND Stadium one more time so I hope he lasts this year and the next.

I still can't believe that man can still patrol the sidelines while pushing 80 friggin' years! I'm gonna count my blessings if I make it to 50................hard livin'. Seriously though, you have to wonder if Joe Pa just doesn't have the skills to do this anymore. The game, specifically on offense, has changed dramatically even over the past 10 years. Look at what's going on with Spread Offense, West Coast, etc. Can an old dog really learn new tricks?

This is not a knock on any paid site.

 

I simply fail to see anymore what a paid site can do under the Weis regeme. Everyone is on a blank page waiting for the word.

 

There is no more insiders. If practices are closed then they are closed. If open then they are open to Everyone. (Read EVERYone.) Players must get approval from the coach now.

 

I have seen enough posts at DD to be quite astonished at the football knowledge mere fans bring in.

 

If Coach weis is schmoozing he's scmoosing us on an equal level. This I like.

I just cancelled my scout subscription b/c of this site. I get all the info I need and you all are a blast to talk to

Oh don't do that.. No one needs people mad. You still get the hot recruiting info there. They can babysit these kids by cell phone. where no one else can.

 

 

But if Coach Weis is doing it I see a trend coming on inside info all around.

I've honestly never been able to justify subscribing to a pay site. Yes, it's tempting to see all those articles I could have access to, but I have to wonder, what am I really missing? Every recruiting verbal and personnel change I have found on free message boards before it happens. So many of our fans are very well educated in regards to football, so I trust the insight from the posters as much as I trust the so-called "insiders." You do make a good point though, I think starting this season, what they know, we will know.

I cancelled my subscription b/c I don't have time. I absolutely love it but with a baby and stuff I just can't justify it. This sight will keep me informed and this is all i need.

Been trying to express how the winds "are a blowing out of a new direction" not just for ND, football. There are things coming that will be shockers for all.

 

I have confidence Notre Dame brass is way ahead of any detrator and to be honest way- way- way- ahead of other football followers. This group put a 21st century stamp on football. Nice to hark back to Rockne, Ara or even JoePa. It will not work 2005. (No disrespect for past and history.)

I never even began to subscribe because i don't buy into previews and stuff like that because I have my own opinions and I have a bunch of friends that are HS football coaches so I get recruiting inside from them. No need to spend $100+ on sites.

that's what i'm saying. why pay when my opinion is just as important to me as anyone else's opinion. Heck, I think the folks on this board are more accurate than 99% of the jokers out there getting paid to report.
