Franco
I'm thinking in terms of both players and assistant coaches... I figure with the assistant coaches, Brian Kelly will want to bring in his own, but I think I'd want Tenuta, Brown, and Ianello to stay (if possible)... As far as players, I'm not sure, I can see these people leaving: *denotes that the player might leave even if he is the starter Jimmy Clausen* Robert Hughes Kyle Rudolph* (stated that he came because of Weis' extensive use of TE's) and that's all I can think of right now
Guest Thunter88
I think Kelly will be the next coach and bring his coaches in. But I dont see any starting guys leaving. Maybe some guys down in the depth chart who came because of charlie but wont start.
IrishLeopard
doubt jimmy would leave....hed only have one year left if he went somewhere, and you kno he wouldnt go D1-AA or whatever its called now
Guest Qwertyy
Crist. He'd be waiting next year anyway so why not leave.
rdrdreamer
Depends on whom is brought in. The selection of a new head coach may affect the current verbals more so than the current players. IF, if a change were made, the players may be motivated by the course taken. May come across like a dedication to winning...to win today as opposed to tomorrow, figuritively speaking of course. I may be naively banking on these guys having committed to the program more so than a head coach?
Guest concord9
Why on earth would we hire a coach that would cause Clausen and/or Crist to leave? This is why I think hiring Kelly would be a disaster. We do not have the personell to run the spread. No QB, no linemen. I hope our administration realizes this. Guest SirJohn
This is a no brainer. Clausins Dad brout a house in SB, Jimmy is over 21 and can now drink. Why immigrate? He is just in his 2nd year, results are good 2 more years he can write his own NFL ticket for millions. You guys thinking he leaves need some Kool Aid or lobotomy. Sorry to say it that way. But your not looking at the end resluts, your thinking quick fix which wont happen, I hope I get this correct? An Army engineer expression. "The difficult we do today, the impossible just takes longer." Peace my friends

Guest sophieisana
Sure, here is how it would go, just like with Willingham, just like with Weis, they come in and have a stellar year or two, the return to glory, bringing the nasty back to ND football and all .. then the program settles in and the novelty has worn off .. then we start looking for another coach because we aren't winning national championships. I'm for Charlie righting this ship, I'm for giving him time to make this program work, I believe he is the right guy. BTW, if you think ND is going to choose someone obvious for head coach, I bet you'd be wrong, the last few coaches were names not on message board short lists at the onset. Although if CW stays...he's going to have to make some changes in his staff..you would think Latina would be the first one on the chopping block
Donjuan
Can we please just score 21 points tonight? I don't even care that we lose, but rather we score some points in this massacre. It could stave off a few detractors IMO. Alright.....I care if we lose, damnit. I wish I was numb on gameday. This is why I think hiring Kelly would be a disaster. We do not have the personell to run the spread. No QB, no linemen. I hope our administration realizes this. Kelly would be absolutely thrilled to use Clausen or Crist. His spread is a throwing offense that uses the quarterback to run if he can. If he can't (like the guys Cinci has), it doesn't make a lick of difference. He does not run Rich Rodriguez's spread. And if I'm not mistaken, our linemen apparently arent the right fit for what we're doing now.
irishwavend
Kelly is an awful choice this year. Secondly, I will leave if Weis is fired, because it would be stupid to do so.

Then you'll be around for sometime Wave. Just wouldn't add us for him to be let go. Too much more at stake than these past two seasons. irishwavend
I agree. Half of this talk is just the media keeping things going so they have something to sell. I can't believe we have fans buying into it.

Ital-Irish
Let me be clear, if Charlie rights the ship, I'll gladly eat my words. I just haven't seen anything from him as a gameday coach (at least since that first season) where I think that's going to happen. I know that I do a lot of Kelly touting around here, but he's going to be a star, and wherever he ends up, several national titles and a perennial contender will follow. I think Kelly would be phenomenal at ND. He is going to be great wherever he goes.
