SpeedsterX
What's your age? Do you think we should fire Weis before the start of next season? I am 43. I ask because I would find it interesting in the thought process of our younger members against our "older" members. My thinking is that anyone that only remembers as far back as Holtz or Davie wants a quick coaching change now. I believe most older members, such as myself wants Charlie to have at least one more year and possibly 2 because we have lived through some of the Glory Days and have experienced the coaching carousel and what it does to a program. I have lived through 6 coaches. I believe that if Charlie doesn't get at least one more year and coaches Jimmy's Junior year, it will put this program back for YEARS! What do you think? Can you honestly say that there's a homerun coach out there right now who even wants this job?
Guest SirJohn
I am 65, I will be 66 on December 20. I go back to some of the Ara era. So thats a lot of coaching changes right there. I have seen them come and go. I just feel Charlie needs more time.

jessemoore97
I'm 33. I really haven't made up my mind about what ND should do or whether or not Charlie should stay. I look over the season and I'm happy with the improvements I've seen, but was that because of lesser quality teams we played? Our lack of beating beatable teams and putting the killing blow so to speak on them is a big negative IMO. We let too many teams get back into the game, then even beat us this year. We have to play 4 quarters of football and not be nicey to everyone. I'm in just a wait and see mode right now, seeing what happens at SC could affect what's going to happen with CW. If we get blown out big, which Poodle has no objections of doing to us, I think the writing will be on the wall and Charlie's time may be up. I don't know, I'm just frustrated, but will continue supporting my beloved Irish.

domeanddomer
I'm 32 and I do NOT think CW should be fired now. I do think that he has absolutely zero excuses for next year and if he doesn't win at least 9 games he will be fired.
hamiljar
I am 29 and I would like to give Charlie 1 more year to prove he can do it. The only exception would be if there is a really big name out there that is already signed up. I do not want to go through another coaching search. Where everyone turns us down and makes us look bad. Go Irish smash the trojans!!!!
coastereight
Naw I don't agree really. I'm 19 and I want him to get another year. But it's basically because I understand the carousel and I know ND always gave coaches 5 years before willingham. That makes a job desirable. That said, if we can somehow get Meyer or a Stoops level coach by all means but I'm not for firing Weis. Especially without knowing who's taking over. The job isn't as desirable as it used to be for top tier coaches. I think we all found that out 4 years ago. Say what you want, that wasn't all about recruited talent being dry. We can make it more desirable, but not by firing guys prematurely without knowing we can get someone better.
ND FANATIC
I'm 41 - 42 on 12/21 I do think CW should be fired/resign because he will never be a great college football coach. And if we want ND to get back to the top of the college football world, I don't think that CW is the guy to get us there. Its not that I think CW is a bad guy - he loves his family, ND and is a good football coach. I'm not going to bad mouth him because I think he is trying everything he can, I just don't think that he will ever be a great college football coach, its nothing against him personally, its just some people are cut out to be a college coach, and I think that CW is not one of them. Pete Carroll and Lou are/were great college coaches and not good professional coaches, I think CW is the opposite, a good NFL coach and not a good fit for college. He doesn't get the emotion of the game in college, he coaches these kids like its a business, but thats not the way college football is. College football is not as cerebral as the NFL, its played on raw emotion, coaches feel that emotion and running with it. CW doesn't get it, he's almost too smart for the college game, and not emotional enough. I think that he would make a great coach in the NFL, but I just have the feeling it won't happen in college football.
Pregame
22 I think he should get one more year, only exception being we have someone like urban or gruden locked down BEFORE we fire Weis

I just want him to make a couple changes that will put ND in a better position to win. CW is doing a hell of a job recruiting. He is doing a hell of a job getting his players to focus on grades. His off-the-field work makes me proud to be an ND fan. He just needs to get Saturdays figured out again.

2lakes
43. IMHO, Coach Weis's and the team's progress does not merit another year. Through Parseghian, Devine, and Holtz, folks my age have grown wise watching the standard being set through Willingham, Davie, and Weis we are quick to realize when that standard has not been met.
