2lakes
For those posters who still think that Coach Weis is the answer to the Notre Dame question, I must ask, "what more do you need to see in order to be convinced that our football program is going in the wrong direction under the wrong leadership?" Seriously, what would it take? Any thoughts?
SDIrishFan
I think you'd be hard pressed to find any "Weis supporters" at this point. You may find some people who don't expect him to be fired after this year for one reason or another, but I'd be shocked if anyone defended him at this point... 2lakes
I'll bump this up again later this week: hopefully, I'll have a chance to log on. But if I were a Weis apologist, I would've turned off the television, turned off the computer, and gone to bed by now. And I wouldn't read the papers or surf the net tomorrow either. tdnd81
Syracuse lost to Akron by 14!!!! Only thing i would say about firing Weis would be...... Who do we get? And how many recruits do we lose?? I just hate going through this crap every 4 years... It can't get ant worse i guess
Guest brady112106
I think the losing the recruits thing's going to happen regardless whether Weis is still around or not. He's flat out putting a terrible product on the field.

2lakes
Bump (could we call this a promotion?). Any takers on this yet?
Katzenboyer
It's a sad day when the fact that fear of losing recruits is pretty much the only thing keeping the head coach hanging onto a job in some people's eyes.
kgd1001
i dont think we would lose too many guys. we could get brian kelly from cincy, john gruden would be a big candidate, the coach from boise state has been mentioned before...even skip holtz. as long as we have ianello we will recruit pretty good. we could even bump up brown or tenuta to head coach..they both have the abillity and are both good recruiters... we need a coach that can actually use talent wisely...charlie doesnt do that...he is a genius pro off. coordinator...definitely not a college head coach
2lakes
The question we are asking here is for those who still believe Coach Weis is the answer: what will it take to change your mind? Twelve more runs up the middle on third and one that lose two yards? Eleven more come-from-behind losses? Ten more misses inside the thirty? Nine more butt-kickings by good teams? Eight more losses at home to mediocre teams? Seven more losses to terrible teams? Six more three-and-outs when we need to sustain a drive? Five ill-advised screens? Four more 8-4 seasons? Three more 7-5 seasons? Two more 6-6 seasons? And more cartlidge off of Charlie's knee?
Guest SirJohn
Know you all are nervous. I remain a Charlie loyalist.
Pregame
I think Charlie gets one more year. I want Charlie to get one more year. I no longer believe that Charlie will be the coach to return us to an annual top 15 caliber team. I guess I want Charlie to show us he has what it takes to win. 2lakes
Wait. In the spirit of the coming Holidays, I know I can do better. How about: Twelve runners falling Eleven punts a punting Ten leads a losing Nine losses last year Eight fans a fainting Seven points not scoring Six wins a winning Five of them stink Four lousy kicks Three points not Two games left And no cartilage in a bum knee Not perfect, but getting there. Any other entries?

superchargers
some of you have actually taken to task the players in which make the plays. did charlie wear 43 when he dropped the snap? did charlie wear 18 when he dropped the pass in the end zone? did charlie wear 51 when he held on a play that ended on the 2? did charlie wear 7 when he missed a wide open receiver? what year was that that ND recruited 3 4 or 5 star players from so cal (petey's backyard)? does chris peterson know what the word defense is? what is gruden without kiffen? i will still support charlie for one more year! the rest of you can jump off the bandwagon now and please stay off until charlie leaves. 2lakes
So your argument is that it's the players fault, and we can't do any better. I don't like bandwagons. Way too noisy. But I'll remain a Notre Dame booster convinced that a change is necessary.
mcdougal93
Something that we all need to realize is that we want the best for the university. We've had some bad years lately and with the last two coaches being shown the door. There has been improvement in recruiting under CW and that is undeniable. However, some of us are tired of the excuses. The way you practice is the way you play. There is a lot of blame to go around for what's happened with Syracuse, BC, Pitt, NC and MSU. Whether it's the talent, youth, game planning, execution, offense, defense, special teams, turnovers, etc...., the person who should be taking the responsibility is the head coach. He gets paid to win, and at ND, to graduate his players. Period. That's it. He gets the credit when you win, the blame when you lose. You don't see Nick Saban, PC, Urban, and others making excuses about youth or some other stuff. I want ND to win EVERY game. I appreciate these players for what they've sacrificed to this University. I'm angry that some idiots decided to throw snowballs at them. This behavior is disgusting. I will always root for ND NO MATTER WHO IS COACHING. But I'm off the CW bandwagon. Been on the ND bandwagon since I was 9 years old and will never get off. We can agree to disagree on our current coach.
SpeedsterX
Seriously, what would it take? Any thoughts? Yes, http://www.domerdomain.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18347
2lakes
So, one more year; then "no BCS - no more contract" is what I'm reading in that thread.
2lakes
Yes, this the second bump for my own thread. And, no, I am not getting paid by the view. But here is the gist of my very, very, very serious question: those of you who want Coach Weis to get another year -- are you willing to accept any finish to this season and still maintain that view? My belief is that you must accept some level of accountability for Coach Weis, albeit much different from mine. Let's say we lose by 20 to USC, and then lose another bowl game: would that convince any of the "Weis Guys" that we are going in the wrong direction? Or would it take a 30 point blowout in both? Is there any scenario where you would change your mind?
