crouchingjedi
South Bend, IN -- The University of Notre Dame has announced it will sue head coach Charlie Weis for breach of contract. In the lawsuit the university has laid cause for the coach to step down without an obligation to pay the remainder of his contract which is reportedly upwards of $14 million. In the suit the University cites several promises from the coach that were not delivered: - "You will have a hard working, disciplined, NASTY football team." 2004 - "We will NEVER lose to Michigan State again under my watch." 2006 - "If I don't win a national championship by my fifth year I should be fired." 2005 - "We are going to pound it." 2008 - "We will have a significant schematic on-field advantage." 2004 - "THere is no reason why we shouldn't win at least 8-9 wins this year." 2008 No word from Coach Weis' legal team on an official response yet. Guest sophieisana
Quite possibly the funniest post I've read .. but honestly, outside of our good lord, who could coach this team to national prominence?
crouchingjedi
Quite possibly the funniest post I've read .. but honestly, outside of our good lord, who could coach this team to national prominence? I think there is enough talent on the roster that with a coach who develops and motivates players we could have or should have been sitting here at 8-9 wins

Wow...this would be a breach, without a doubt. I remember these being said.
crouchingjedi
For some reason I am watching the press conference on ESPN and CW is completely shell shocked. He just said he has not lost confidence in himself. I think he's the only one in the room who feels that way.

Thanks....its funny...the one thing that I thought was going to be our strength with Weis coming in, the play-calling...has been one of the major reasons for our failure
Guest sully179
Mark May actually spoke the truth. He is saying that we have improved, but the bar of success has not been reached and Charlie would be gone tomorrow if not for his contract

They were all salivating at the chance to rub it in and also to throw some of this back in Charlie's face. They were also commenting how his attitude was "lighthearted" in the press conference
Donjuan
I should press charges on Charlie for breaking and entering. He broke into my home, stole my heart and left a pile of crap in return. I'll have to ask Speedster if he violated any other laws. Maybe desecration or something else??

crouchingjedi
"lighthearted"? I sure as hell hope he wasn't! No need to be cracking jokes after that loss I don't think he was over the top certainly no cracking jokes I think the ESPN heads expected him to roll over. I felt like he threw the players under the bus a few times--"We tried to do this on offense and THEY didn't convert." etc. He even caught himself one time saying "I'm including the coaches on this to, but . . ." No heart No fight No discipline (penalties) We lost to 3 basketball schools this year--UNC, Pitt and SU.
atrain78255
That's disappointing to hear. Apparently we got sold a bill of goods by a NJ used-car salesman.
