Ok, so McCoy isn't coming to ND. What happens to the remaining scholarship? I heard that Kates is out, so what do we do? We could have had Lewis or Terrance Austin and now we get nothing.

We can use the scholie for next year.

as of right now, my choice is 2007. We could try to land Kates but I really question the make up of this kid. 2007 is going to turn out to be the greatest recruiting class in the history of Notre Dame. Use it there.

Sources saying the coaching staff had a meeting today to discuss who will take the last offer to complete the class of 2006. The decision will be made tomorrow who will get the final spot. Jason Kates is still in the picture with John Latina giving support to bring him in. As we know, DT is the biggest need to complete an outstanding class.

 

Kates' feelings about ND are still pretty high. He has had a late interest in Maryland due to a couple of trips he's taken out there, including an official this weekend. A few of his friends go there now and are going there next year.

 

If Kates gets the final call on Monday offering him the spot, I'd guess a 75-80% chance he'll commit to the staff right then. If Kates says no, it's a wild guess where they goes next. One option would be to continue going after guys and hoping they decommit -- Mitch mustain, Butch Lewis, Anthony Lewis, or Terrence Austin.

OU, USC or LSU. hope he goes to LSU or OU.

when there is a limit to schollarships to one school per year, if they are 1 under that in one year can they carry that over for the next year? or is it just so many per year? which if is the case and because McCoy is out then ND is left with one more schollarship.. cant ND still recruit some other players who are rated amount the best who still have yet to decide?

ive never really followed recruiting so theres probually alot i dont know.

I saw the clip where McCoy was on a local sports channel. He clearly said that it was down to three and those three were USC, LSU, and OU. We're definitely out.

Save it for next year and allow Clausen to enroll early

EE can either be used for the class before or there current class, although I agree that we should just save the scholli for next year. It appears that we have a TON of interest from big time players.

You need to know exatly where Clausen is or is not in finishing cources and also if his school ALLOWS an early departure. Some will not.
