tdnd81
I saw that Rick........ What a frickin joke hahaahaah......... If they lose 2 in a row, one at home and one at a neutral field to Navy then Weis should be fired, and this would be the worst ND football team i have ever seen. Biggest game in Weis's career imo. Just looked up Navy's last 3 recruiting classes..... A total of 0 ***** (big shocker) a total of 0****(no surprise) and a total of... you guessed it, 0 *** The whole team is * and **..... What does that mean on Sat??? We are favored by 3 :shock: If we were a average team we would be favored by 25+

irish21
Id take us with everything I own. We will be in a bowl game at 7-5. With that being said, were still not a good football team and Saturday nights debacle proved that. I have been a believer in Coach Weis until after the loss to Pitt. I have serious doubts in our staffs preperation and gameday coaching. Obviously the recruiting is great and we have the athletes to compete with anyone. All im saying is if we lose Saturday whoever gets this job is going to inherit a ton of talent.
Guest irishrick
all that being said i think Charlie has grown up in the past few weeks, he is learning what a head coach has to do, that being said i think the start of the new Charlie is about to begin . I think that cw will retake the play calling back over and should do a much better job than Haywood, still he is the boss and he has to take the criticism , but i think you will see a few changes most likely three the QB coach the line coach and the off cord will all go at the end of the season , as we most likely won't get invited to a bowl game unless we beat USC, WHICH IS IN SERIOUS DOUBT, UNLESS THE IRISH PLAY AS A FIRED UP TEAM AND GETS A EARLY LEAD. WE HAD CHANGE LAST WEEK MAYBE WE GET CHANGE THIS WEEK . GO IRISH
dangeruss
Just looked up Navy's last 3 recruiting classes..... We are favored by 3 :shock: If we were a average team we would be favored by 25+ look at PSU, wisconsin, BC and texas techs last three recruiting classes. it's all about coaching and finding the right players for your system. i think ND being favored by 3 sounds about right. i think it's more of a knock on NDs defense then it is the offense. even though ND's offense has sputtered all year long navy's defense isn't good enough to stop NDs offense but NDs defense will not be able to slow navys offense at all. ND should win in a shoot out.
GermanyDomer
If ND doesnt kick Navy's a** then Charlie is not even an average coach. He's in a slump and better figure a way out of it on Saturday.
IrishGuy
If ND doesnt kick Navy's a** then Charlie is not even an average coach. He's in a slump and better figure a way out of it on Saturday. Now come on. Navy plays a system that is VERY good for their types of players. This system is also something that a lot of teams have trouble stopping. And it just so happens that this system is a VERY tough matchup for us right now. Navy should move the ball on us very well. Hopefully our speed, strength, and Size advantages will help us get some key stops, and some turn overs. This game is a 3 point spread for a reason. The odds makers believe it will be a close game. The odds makers are in this business to make money, and as a result they employ some of the best people at analyzing teams and determining spreads. If ND can win this one, then the margin of victory doesn't matter much. As long as we get good line play, and decent play calling, we should be happy...even if we win by 3 or 35. Guest irishrick
Irish guy i agree but a lot will depend on some changes that were to be announced today by the head coach . ??? Will wait till then to see if there is a change . Go irish
ndmike88
ND favored by 3. Happy day. I remember when the Irish were favored by 30. To me this is the make or break career for Weis. Winning by 3 over just won't cut it. Losing to Navy and he might as well hang it up.
Kid Gloves
Favored by 3........Favored by 3........I just had to let that sink in for a minute. If we have all of this supposed talent then how can this be????? It all comes down to what I have said since last year......coaching. Pathetic state of ND football to only be favored by 3--especially after losing to Navy last year! You'd think we would be ready to come out and whoop ass by 40!! GermanyDomer
Ok kid gloves, if Weis is so bad, please give me a series of names that ND could get that would be significantly better than him as an all-around college head coach. Both you guys are right. The problem here is that ND is stuck with Charlie because he's the best option right now and that sucks because he's not gettting the job done. ND should be favored by at least 14 against Navy considering the massive talent difference, and I really mean massive. I actually would have no problem with Charlie being an average coach if he was getting paid average money. He needs to figure this out soon. Guest irishrick
domer, its not a question of the amount of money he or anyone gets its producing results, as someone said the excuses are getting old , he is the boss , he has to improve the results, or suffer the results. make changes or what ever > thanks to him we have a very talented team thats on board we just need some motivation by some ob the staff and some of the plaYERS, HAVEN'T SEEN ANY EMOTION SINCE THE mICHIGAN GAME . IMO . GO IRISH
Kid Gloves
Ok kid gloves, if Weis is so bad, please give me a series of names that ND could get that would be significantly better than him as an all-around college head coach. I haven't even really thought about the names ND could get as coach. There are a ton of coaches who are far better than CW though. Therein lies an entirely different problem that would deserve its own thread. I seriously doubt there are that many of the big name coaches that would ever want to coach at ND given the parameters that ND has to work with these days compared to other schools, i.e. location, weather, admissions, expectations, administration, etc. I think that is why we ended up Ty, O'Leary, and CW to begin with. I just couldn't see guys like Urban, Mack, PC, Saban, etc wanting to come to ND. It is so much easier for them to compete on the national stage by going to the schools they chose. We would most likely have to get an unproven guy from a small conference school that would be willing to take the chance and hopefully he turns out to be a star. The proven, big name coaches out there all know that the HC job at ND is probably the toughest job in coaching, and most of them want no part of it. But that really isn't the point right now......my point is that CW isn't getting it done and I'm sick of the excuses. If he can't get it done we need to keep searching until we find someone who can. Guest irishrick
Yea charlie will get it done, changes are due come the end of the season , i doubt that there will be a boel game unless we can find the mustard to beat usc. So looks like the last game we will get some news on who is gone i doubt that the irish will accept a bowl game invite unless they win out ? What say you ?
