Navy will be pumped, well-coached and prepared to play against ND next week Notre Dame will not be prepared to play ND has more talent than Navy Hopefully the talent factor will be enough to get us by...I'm not sure at this point...what say you? atrain78255
we will beat navy. We will beat navy! Bank it. Love the optimism Speedster, but being a fan of history I have to predict future events based on what has happened in the near past. Lately, ND has not been prepared properly...so what do you think changes that?

DScottND
What I want to see is if the team has quit. What I saw last night was that the offense has quit for the season - but not the D. You ask me they are responding to the coaches - Charlie on O and Brown and Tenuta on D. I want to see if the O truly has quit and if Brown and Tenuta can hold onto the D. TorontoCroatian
If we lose to Navy (Navy?!?!?!?!?!) again, is it lights out for Charlie? I don't care how young we are, blah blah blah...for phucks sake, just like BC not one of their players was recruited by us...not one Navy guy could even dream of being on our team, and yet, they are the favourites heading into this one... I am still in shock over last night. Embarassing, humiliating, etc...wow...
Guest irishrick
come on irish fans , if you look at last season and this season there is a huge difference, But in my humble opinion , everyteam that we have played has used our play calling to stop us , last night was a perfect example , they took away the long pass, gave us a few yards over the middle and boom there there to shut us down , the run game is none the passing game last night well you see the results , JC or brady quinn couldn't have done any better when you are one option team and that is taken away by good coaching then you will lose, got to give the eagles staff and players a ton of credit. they earned it , i forsee changes to be made at the end of the season >> what say you , do i see a skip holtz as a new offensive cord. ????? Just a thought ??what say you . go irish
ndmike88
People have been screaming for changes for several years. Until changes are made we will be the same old Notre Dame.
domeanddomer
I'm not overly confident about the Navy game. Sure it's easy to point out that they should be able to run fairly easily, but I equally feel that we will put up a lot of points on them despite last nights pure debacle. I see Harrison Smith having about 15-20 tackles in that game. We'll get good persuit on them I think. Their CBs just don't match up and there truly is no reason why Floyd and Tate don't smoke the secondary. I'll be at the game with Schell and hopefully the two of us won't be curled up crying afterwards. My gosh...that was somewhat optomistic. That type of territory makes me uncomfortable. TorontoCroatian
Anything less than a convincing win is necessary. Imagine the headlines if we lose...3rd in a row...to Navy....didn't they beat Wake already this year? They are a good team...and our condfidence is at an all-time low... Charlie, this literally is a do or die game for you.
IrishGuy
Yeah, Navy is a VERY important game. We cannot go into our bowl game with a record of 2-4 in our last 6 games. We need wins against Navy and Syracuse. Anything less than 7-5 heading into our bowl game will be a failure.
Irish Chris
Love the optimism Speedster, but being a fan of history I have to predict future events based on what has happened in the near past. Lately, ND has not been prepared properly...so what do you think changes that? Navy had a pretty good team last year. Much better than this year's in fact. They even cracked the top 25 for awhile. We had a horrible team last year and it still took them 3 overtimes to win. We are much better this year, I think. The difference in this game will be our O against their D. We won't see a bigger, stronger, quicker, hungrier, meaner D like we saw last night. Of course we have to stop there #2 in the nation running game and that isn't exactly our strong suit. They also beat Rutgers and Wake Forest this year which I would probably say is better than than any two victories we have this year. The D kept us in the game last night and they're playing pretty well right now. If we force Navy to punt a bunch of times, we could see that 40+ point game we've been looking for all year. We will beat Navy!
Guest buffaloirish
this is how sad our program is getting when we are debating weather we beat navy or not. the whole mindset is changed around notre dame nowadays.

tdnd81
Does anybody know the spread??? I could see Navy as a favorite.... If true and we are not favored on a neutral field...... sad very sad
crouchingjedi
I remember when Lou would open up the press conference of Navy week by saying: "I'll tell you one thing, I'm scared to death of this Navy football team." Following an awkward silence, my friends and I would erupt in laughter. What I am feeling right now about the game is just simply unspeakable. OddThomas
I watched the Ball State vs Navy game and they picked them apart with their passing game. Eventually they opened gaping holes on them for their running game too. ND needs to come out angry and physical and take it to them early. If they do that the Navy game will be irrelevant. Its time for Irish pride to show up.
Guest brady112106
I think our team needs to understand right now that eveyone wants the Irish to go down. Every team that plays ND is going to be playing at such an elevated emotional level, compared to their other games. These guys are not good enough to just show up and play. They have to understand that for most teams ND plays, this is their biggest game, aside from the USCs, Michigan, etc. ND has to play like it's the national championship every game. We have this saying every week. Navy is going to be up for this game. They're going to want to get a streak started against us. Clausen and company need to be up for it too. This means the intensity level at practice needs to be up too, not just on Saturday.
dangeruss
NDs defense will have no answer for navy's running game. navy should be able to run the ball well and score points. ND is the more talented team and they have to come out strong. ND should be able to pass the ball all over navy but they can't afford to sputter in this game like they've done in games this year. this game should be close but ND is able to out score navy. Notre Dame - 35 Navy -
