irishziggy
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=3673075&type=blogEntry Apparently Mike Frank said it as well, so I believe it. Edited October 30, 2008 by irishziggy

dangeruss
Young moolah baby...the offense talent on this team will be scary. no doubt. this would be so awsome if we landed him, this offense is just getting sick talent. all would need now is a running game and ND would be hard to stop. IrishGrizz
A good positive sign, but just anothers opinion. We will all find out in alittle more than a week, one way or the other. My fingers are crossed.

Junkhead
I'm not 100% sold on ESPN recruiting skills, but fwiw, Evans is rated at 84 by ESPN. As a point of reference, Michael Floyd, my secret man-crush, was rated by them at 83 last year.

tchris555
looks like a raw version of Rhema McKnight, maybe a step slower at this point though, which is ok. I dont even think he knows how to run yet. His strides when he's breakign away don't look that good but the kids just an athlete. Said on rivals he's looking to go to the place that he fits into the best and that's special. Usually when kids start throwing around the word "special" it bodes well for ND. I wasn't sure about Shaq until I read that article about him. I don't know if it is becasue it is ND's site or what, but he gushing about ND and had little to say about USC except that it was close by. I'd say he's ours. krazyglue
Hear is a mid season highlight reel........WOW... Little cocky for me but WOW.. "Little cockey"....that a tad bit of an understatement don't you think? He looked like he was either a tad slow or DB were getting really good angles on him on the longer runs (I know nothing about the level of kids he was playing so that could have something to do with it). The experts said that Floyd was a step slow too didn't they?

Seems like a project receiver with tons of upside and potential. Just needs to refine his technique. Which is good because of the log-jam at the receiver position. IrishGrizz
Yea, Franco. they said/say the same about Dieon Walker, too. An advantage Shaq will have is that he is playing WR as a Sr, whereas Walker was playing QB and other positions his Sr year, so Evans should be alittle ahead of Walkers progression. Took the words right out of my mouth, Grizz -- the things being said about Shaq were the same things being said about Walker last year. Both started off as five-stars as well, but slipped to four-stars at Rivals because they're "raw". Here's what I like -- at the USC camp, he more than held his own (although he dropped a lot of passes) and played well against the best competition in the country. On tape, he screams raw, untapped potential, and this is the staff that can develop that fully. And he just seems like an ND guy. I hope he's Irish next Friday, but he's a guy I'm going to root for over the next four years, regardless of where he goes.
