will munny
Will ND be able to keep him after this year when leeches like LSU come calling? I say we have to keep Tenuta as we've shifted our entire defense to the Tenuta 4-3 style(which I like) and I believe Weis is committed to keeping his associate head coach in $$$$ form. Donjuan
I honestly think he might stay. I think he knows that ND has a chance to do something special, and hopefully he'll be along for the ride.
IrishGuy
I have a very bad feeling that JT is gone after this season.....next season at the longest. JT wanted to be a HC somewhere. Not getting real consideration for the GT job was a slap in the face. I do not believe he will even consider going somewhere as a DC. He may stick around at ND one more year if no decent jobs open up this season. I think we all knew JT coming here was temporary. I hope I am wrong, and that he sticks around for a few years....but I just don't see it.
1qa
some schools of interest are opening up... Clemson for one. The desire to be a HC... can be very powerful motivator... but I think realistically, he needs to improve his recruiting bonafides at a major school. He may be content to stay at ND if the cash is as good as HC at most places without the Recruiting role.
Guest SirJohn
I believe he stays at ND. He definitlty does not have the carasama(SP?) of a HC to the media. Hates ansering questions on the few times he had, and seems content where he is and paid well. He can build soething up at ND he can't do at other places,
IrishLeopard
i think tenuta is very comfortable in his role at ND and will likely stay, like sir john said, he isnt the hc type
Guest irishrick
i heard this from a source a few months ago , he goes _______NO WHERE , till he can help develop the Irish into a top 5 team, and from the looks that SHOULD BE in year 2009 or 2010 at the latest. count on it , as for the media communications , thats very important, HE IS GETTING A FEEL FOR IT THIS YEAR. he will learn this year and next year, but to be totally honest some of the media questions suck . bUT THEN AGAIN SOME OF THESE PRESIDENTS ONLY CARE ABOUT THE WIN S, BUT I DO LOOK FOR HIM TO BE HERE TIL WE CLINCH A CHANCE TO PLAY IN THE BIG GAME . go Irish
DiegoIrish
I had read comments that he was not interested in ever being a head coach, he likes being the behind the scenes guy and not dealing with media. I can't see him leaving anytime soon.
NDJoe06
I say we just throw the cash at him to keep him. we have the money, and we can raise more. i hope we do everything we can to keep him.
Guest NDGirlzRock
Have any of you stopped to think that he may stick around to learn the media side of things from CW? Honestly, I would say that Corwin leaves before him. Corwin in on the fast track to being a head coach. I think that Tenuta stays and when CW decides to head to the NFL, which will happen in I'd say about 3 to 5 years, the HC job goes to Tenuta. Ok, I'm ready for all of you all to shoot holes in my theory!!!
SmilingEyes
Who here thinks that Defensive Associate Head Coach was the highest profile (and highest paid, for that matter) position Tenuta could have landed last Winter? Honestly, who thinks one of the great defensive minds in the college game today was unable to find a worth while coordinator position, or even a small time head coaching gig? Anyone? Tenuta gave two reasons for coming to Notre Dame: It's Notre Dame, and the chance to work with Charlie Weis. Last time I checked, we were still Notre Dame (someone please correct me if this has changed). At this point, few can doubt that Weis is going to be around for a long time. If Tenuta does leave Notre Dame in the near future, it won't be because he got a better offer.
irishwavend
He won't take an assistant position anywhere else, because we have the highest paid assistants. It will have to be a head coaching position.
rdrdreamer
Just as Coach Weis is building the offense, Coach Brown, with Coach Tenu's help, will build a defense to be reckoned with. I do not see any of our coaches leaving before the work is accomplished.
SpeedsterX
I had read comments that he was not interested in ever being a head coach, he likes being the behind the scenes guy and not dealing with media. I can't see him leaving anytime soon. Yes, I heard or read that a few times when he said he has no interest in being a head coach. I remember thinking to myself, "Good God, if this guy works out as we hope, he will be here for a very long time!" I can see Corwin (on his own time because I'd love to keep him as long as he wants to stay) will eventually get a head coaching job and Tenuta taking over the defense in full. Of course he could always change his mind as he gets more comfortable with the media but I don't think he will EVER want to have anything to do with recruiting. The day I see Tenuta start to play a major role in a recruits process, THAT will be one hell of a recruit and an absolute MUST GET!
chirodomer
Tenuta will go nowhere unless of course he can land the head job at clemson. I doubt that because he is more a developmental coach/schemer instead of a recruiter.

Katzenboyer
Corwin Brown is a lifer man. CB will be here a VERY long time. Don't count on it. As soon as his defense begins to dominate (if that indeed happens), he would immediately be on a ton of short lists for head coaching spots all across the country. He's a terrific recruiter, he's African American (which is huge these days and a plus for college coaches), he'd have gotten results at one of the best schools in D-1...he'll be atop lots of wish lists.
