domeanddomer
Shocker that they lost today. (dripping sarcasm). It just goes to prove that had we not turned the ball over 5 times, we would have killed them. I wasn't impressed with UNC at all.
crouchingjedi
beat me to the punch domeanddomer. MSU getting pounded and UNC putting up only 13 on UVa makes the bye week even more disappointing. I can't believe we lost to either of these teams and certainly you are right that if we don't turn it over 5 times we probably win by 3 TDs. ALso another case of the classic "post ND meltdown" that happens to teams who have an emotional win over us.
Donjuan
University of North Carolina Spartans. Nice to know that either (A.) teams plays us hard then quit, or (B.) we suck and lose to teams who suck. Either or, can't be that good. I know we've improved a lot but it's still evident we're still a ways away. On a side note, I really hope we can help avenge a class-less blowout against WSU. Way to take the foot off the neck there Petey! Edited October 18, 2008 by Donjuan

Way to take the foot off the neck there Petey! Classless blowout against WSU? When USC ran the clock out in the 1st half inside the WSU red zone, that was classlesss? When the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string QBs played 95% of the 2nd half, that was classless? How many passes did USC attempt in the 2nd half? Donjuan
Right on cue..I'm glad to have done my part today. On a serious note, I'm purely reacting to the final score HC. It's hard to stomach a 3rd string-laden team putting up those kind of points. Good call out though, I deserved it.

True class. Those media darlings in South Central are living it up.

mcdougal93
How dare a team go for it on 4th down in the 1st half Yeah I know. WSU was such a big threat that Petey needed touchdowns instead of field goals.
reneg
We have one of the most aggressive 4th down coaches in the country, we have very little room to criticize another team for going for it on 4th down in the 1st half of a game. USC is trying to get into a title game, they won't be able to do that without some blow out wins and some luck on their side.

The Pac-10 has a 64 man limit on the travel roster. USC is very deep....and it would have been easy for USC to put up 100 on WSU if they really wanted to. it is also worth nothing that WSU might be one of the worst teams EVER. mcdougal93
I realize that CW is very aggressive on 4th down but its for different reasons. It's either because we don't have a good kicker, we are behind and need to convert, and/or it's a close game. Don't remember a time when CW was up by 21, inside the red zone, in the first half, against an obviously weaker opponent. Good point about SC needing blowout wins in order to get to the title, but would it make a difference if they beat WSU by 48 points instead of 69? Not IMO. But point taken. PursuitAce
Here are the facts; 1. SC Sucks...always! 2. It's not going to help SC in the BCS if they score 49 versus 69..everyone loves them anyways. 3. Running up the score IS important for most other teams trying to look good to pollsters...some coaches still won't do it. Good for them. 4. And here is the tough one...SC probably couldn't have done anymore to keep the score down without further embarrassing WSU. If you are a coach and you have been in that situation you know what I'm talking about...damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Donjuan
I thought it was over now, but yeah, they completely destroyed Mizzouri. Poor dear Gary Pinkel, my Toledo train has really taken a hit in the last week. With Clemson firing our old offensive coordinator, and then Mizzou getting mowed down, and another torrid loss to NIfreekingU, I'm about to start claiming Dayton. Fact of the matter is, nothing will get sc into the title game if Texas, Bama, and/or Penn State wins out. There SOS is going to kill them.
