chirodomer
The official Irish/Tarheel Game Day Thread brought to you by Wexler's Irish Victory Ale! Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Irish! Irish!
chirodomer
The key to the Irish victory today will be special teams and turnovers. If the Irish come in today with less than two turnovers and execute special teams play then we will have a solid victory. Look for our defense to have a big score today. We have Kerry Neal and Raeshon McNeil both coming home to play against their home state team today. On offense look for JC unloading the ball a lot to Rudolph underneath and to Golden Tate on the fly pattern. The Tarheels have the strength up front to drop five to seven guys back in pass coverage. So we will be seeing a lot of 3 step drop passes with the $ receiver sets. I look for the reverse and draw plays to be effective in the run game today. One other play that is effective against this type of defense is the naked quick pitch and just let Mondo take it and go. We'll see if we are predictable again this week. Go Irish! IrishGuy
Notre Dame is currently between a 7.5 - 8 point underdog. If you look at the matchup (http://covers.msnbc.com/data/ncf/game/g8_main_18.html) the teams are about as evenly matched is they can be. Donjuan
It's being reported that there are more Notre Dame fans there than Tar Heel. I still remember the Nebraska game where it seemed like more than half of the stadium was red, and we all know how that game turned out. Perhaps today's our day? nalcoman1
I think we are in the realm of the team psychology at this point. We will see if they have really forgotten about last year, and now have the mentality that they are entitled to win. They still have to play without mistakes, but I think they are hungry for respect, and that will carry them all the way today.

SpeedsterX
The big difference for us between them is Jimmy. Jimmy needs to be patient and accurate. The rest of the team plays solid, we can beat these guys and beat them handily. ND 40's UNC high 20's GO IRISH!! CRANK ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!
