Donjuan
I've heard that he will be visiting for the Pitt game, so perhaps we get Jenkins to visit as well? That would probably be the plan, along with bringing some DE's/DT's for that game as well. I hope we show him the love--which our students have done a great job with while representing Notre Dame. IrishGrizz
I am surprized, just cause I have always thought we really did not have much of a chance w him. Even though we will be in his final 5 or 6, I have thought we were at best going to be a distant 3rd, behind U$C and BYU. I pray I am wrong and we blow his socks off. chirodomer
I think we have a great shot with jelani Jenkins. I beleve we are in the top 3 for Teo. He named us as a top 5 because all of his top 5 schools said he could do his mission. Also, he likes ND because he thinks that Lil Tuna has a better knowledge of what is required for the pro game. That being said, he loves Norm Chow @ UCLA but we all know that Norm is an OC not a DC. His cousin plays at BYU and he is close to him and he likes Bronco Mendenhall. I am becoming more optimistic that he may actually give us some serious consideration.
Guest ND-Warrior
this is very good news...i can only hope he loves it up there....we haven't had a player like this on the defense for so long.....this are the kind of players that make a team great

Donjuan
Jenkins isn't taking visits until after the season is over. Most likley the banquet for us. I've heard that he might still visit. His coach normally has a zero-in-season-visit stance, but I've heard he might allow it for Jalani. This is all coming from someone who's very familiar with the situation, and is familiar with his coach--he knows him. So I wouldn't count him out just yet for a visit during the season. irishziggy
great news. i just woke up from a long night of drinking for the Phillies game yesterday haha. Now it's time to start drinkin again for game 2. our chances arent that good, but anything can happen on a visit esp b/c he really respects CW. OK but can you answer my question about how you know Manti is planning on visiting for the Pitt game.
Donjuan
I heard about it last night from a friend who works at ND--and it's been confirmed by certain paysites as well.

mcdougal93
I want to warn you guys before another poster from a rival school who is "in the know" about all recruiting information, Teo is a longshot. Not sure if you guys knew that.

I find it rediculous that these recruits use Notre Dame to foot the bill, so that they can simply come here--in November--and enjoy our warm climate. hawaiiirish
not as big a longshot as one might think!!-- manti and his family were thoroughly impressed with charlie-- distance is relative -once you leave hawaii only weather seperates california from indiana--byu well even weather isnt a factor-- their is a REASON why we are being considered at all-- this is not a guy puffing his offer list--he and his family are very curious and very positive by all things ND -from the coach and tradition--to the wonderful academic reputation that has real status here -- the whole interest is exceptionally unusual for a hawaii local boy-- and its not whimsical- manti is a serious guy and many people on the islands think ND has a big chance with him-- if this visit materializes -- and we win big in front of a frenzied crowd - charlie will have a great chance to work magic on a receptive audience!!
