Guest buffaloirish
i just got done watching Cierre's film on rivals and this kid looks amazing. i am suprised that more people arent talking about this kid. Do you think that he is our biggest recruit since clausen?
Canadian_Irish
Will be most talented RB to step on campus in the Weis era, probably most talented RB since holtz era.

Guest brady112106
Is there video on him playing this year? There's been talk before about him not playing against tough competition, but then in the summer, his high school football team changed divisions. Was this a change to go to stiffer competition? If so, I'd like to see some video of him this year.

D Fence
I agree with Heisman on Floyd. You have to put him in there after JC. What about Mike McNair? Was he after Kinder? I thought he was really highly touted coming in, which made his knee injuries and very few carries all the more disappointing in how he progressed. He might not have had the fanfare or star rating as Wood, but I remember at the time he was a real coup. Also, I think Darius Walker might have had more media fanfare than Wood when he signed, even though he was not as highly rated in terms of stars. Aldridge was also a 5-star. chirodomer
There's no doubt that Floyd is one of the best receivers we've recruited. Clausen will own every ND record for passing before he leaves. Cierre will have to show us what he's got in college before I will speculate. Since the Rocket, I think our best athlete is Golden Tate. I'm disappointed that Weis isn't lining the Golden one up in the backfield. He is that good!

It doesn't hurt that he can fly! He is truly a burner, plus he has such strong hands, when do you see him drop a ball? NEVER!
Guest Metrorail Alumnus
Tate dropped one against Stanford. But I guess the exception proves the rule. Also, Tate is hard to bring down.
IrishGrizz
I believe Saturday there was a play when Tate ran a sideline pattern and came back for a pass and showed his hand strength by grabbing the ball as the defender was fighting for the ball too. Semper Fi ND du Lac
C. Wood is going to be a great RB for ND. His team is undefeated at 5-0 Here are his first four games stats: Mary Star Win 29-7 10-Car 144-Yds 14.4-Avg 2-TD Hueneme Win 28-0 12-Car 165-Yds 13.75-Avg 2-TD Channel Island Win 35-7 12-Car 259-Yds 21.58-Avg 3-TD LA Baptist Win 40-18 20-Car 183-Yds 9.15-Avg 3-TD Receiving 4-Rec 100-Yds 2-TD Ohhhh…and he threw a 28yrd TD I know nothing of his competition but the kid obviously likes the end-zone. IrishGuy
Also, Tate is hard to bring down. That play against MSU where he caught the ball on 3rd and 13 for what appeared like a 4 or 5 yard gain and ended up breaking 3 tackles and running for the first was pretty damned impressive. IrishGrizz
Tate, along w Turk on the O line are the 2 biggest surprizes on the Offense. I really thought Tate was not going to make much progress this year as a receiver. After his spring time was split because of playing on the baseball team, I thought he might never be a student of his craft and be anything other than a 'go' pattern WR. How wrong I was- and so happy to be wrong.

Tate is definitely the second biggest surprise for me on offense. The difference between this year and last is amazing.
IrishGrizz
I think for me it was that I thought I knew what we had w Tate because of what we saw last year. I did not think he had it in him to be who he has become this year. I sure missed that one. With Floyd, although I did not expect/home/dream/think he would do what he has done this year, I was not sure he couldn't do it. Does that make sense? IrishGuy
Yeah, I completely understand where you are coming from. I had the same thought about Tate. I figured he would be "slightly" improved. I knew he has ability, and all that was really holding him back was being able to run routes. He has far surpassed any expectations I have had of him. And think.....we get 2 more years to enjoy Tate, and hopefully 3 with Floyd.
Guest irishrick
semper, yes his stats are great, but lets let him get here an see how he does on the field , we seem to think every recruit we get is the best of the best, look at JA, he is good but hasn't shown that five star form yet. i agree tate is prettu darn good. go irish

Hey, before we get too excited here, i am a little concerned about the fall-off in production. Look at the LA-Baptist game, down to 9.15 ypc?! I mean, no question the kid is good but lets not annoint him as anything special quite yet, maybe he just had an off game or.....?? Lets wait and see here, ok guys?
