The Gold Helmets
Besides a Notre Dame fan I am also an Indianapolis Colts fan so I have spent a lot of time rooting for Jim Harbaugh as a player during my days. However, today he kind of came across as a classless jerk. First off, totally losing composure about the punt inference call was questionable at best. I don't know if you want your coach flipping the F out during the game like that. What kind of message does that send to your players? (I did laugh because he about hit some innocent dude sitting on the bench with his hat when he threw it) Secondly it sounds like he refused to shake Clausen's hand after the game. Clausen said, "He obviously he didn't want to talk to me". Harbaugh claimed he was just trying to get his players off the field. Lastly he made some comments about the officials something to the effect of- its hard to fathom someone (the officials) not knowing that much about football. Stanford did have some tough calls, but Harbaugh just kind of seems to be acting like a whiny little girl instead of manning up and talking about the things his team could have done better. It easy to see why that Stanford o-lineman let his emotions get the best of him when his coach pretty much did the same thing all day today.... chirodomer
I think Harbaugh is a product of the system from which he came aka Michigan man.
tdnd81
Clausen had a great smile on his face when he talked about that story, but found a way to stay classy. Unlike that D-bag Jim H. hey jimbo.. do you remember when ND got jobbed last year on Grimes TD catch?? It was a crappy call, but it go's both ways, But he has to be the bigger man and shake his hand..... SCOREBOARD

The Gold Helmets
JH is just ticked bc JC is going to re-write some record books at his teams' expense. Well if JH's team keeps playing pass defense like that it will certainly help Jimmy's passing stats!!! Up until today I was pretty high on Stanford's future, but I got to admit I did lose some respect for Harbaugh and his team today. I think he's a good coach but if he keeps melting down like that he wont last long in today's college football. Get some thicker skin Jim. At least he didn't have a Mike Gundy meltdown, " I'm a grown man damn it"!!
KamaraPolice
I like Harbaugh and I still have respect for him but it is dwindling. It's not necessarily anything he has against my team. First off, in last years game, he played a quarterback that clearly had a concussion and risked the kids entire future on the ball game. Then he blows up on a penalty that may have been bogus BUT, we still would have had the ball. The punt hit his player, so its not like it took possession away. So Floyd scores on a 63-yard touchdown rather than a 48-yarder; if anyone should be livid it should be Floyd. Lastly, we had two bogus calls last year that cost us TDs against his team (Grimes TD and Zibbys that got called back on a very questionable call) and this year he got a free pass on a TD that the receiver clearly DROPPED and then regained possession OUT OF BOUNDS. No touchdown. So he goes off like a loose-cannon, the broadcasters buy into, jabbering all day how stanford got the shaft and yet, in the grand scheme of things, Stanford made out better than Notre Dame. I've seen Harbaugh against other teams and he doesn't act like that, but he is looking more like a jock coach than a mentor.
IrishGrizz
Chainsaw, I too lost alot of respect for Harbaugh, after his tempertantrums yesterday. Whether or not his team had a couple of bad calls go against them, that was a pitiful display on how to deal with adversity. Why he did not recieve a flag or two for his absolute disrespect of the officials is beyond me. Happy seeing him lose even more after watching him act like a 4 year old. Not only was Grimes robbed of a catch but Zibby was robbed of an interception return on a phantom block in the back by Laws. I had respect for Harbaugh because he is a good coach but he came off as a punk yesterday.
tdnd81
Good call guys... I forgot about the Zibby crazy return and that crap call... Jim shut your pie hole and don't be a baby.. We got double fked last year, you got single fked this year, get over it. Just be happy the Irish D didn't break your QB's neck like last year. Oh scoreboard.. Batch
What is crazy about those last comments from him is that he is probably going to see that crew again as they are a PAC-10 crew. Not to mention the other crews in the PAC-10 might take offense to those comments. I am betting he isn't going to get many calls this year in conference play. I could be wrong but generally it is the visiting teams conference officiating crew and Big East replay for ND home games. GermanyDomer
Harbaugh is starting to look a bit like John L Smith. I wonder if he's headed for a meltdown? He should be careful with his childish tantrums. It reflects on Stanford. He's also teaching his players to be a bunch of classless whiners as well. We shall see. ND FANATIC
You can say what you want about the guy, but he is doing a great job at Stanford. He has those guys playing physical and hardnosed and they seem to play for all 60 minutes. With the limited recruiting base that he has to work with and being able to put the type of teams on the field that he does, you can bet he won't be there too much longer..... irishwavend
I like how someone said, "It's notre dame, so they're gonna get the calls." I was like, dude, it's a pac-10 crew. Shutup.

The man can coach no question... What I don't like is all the bitching and moaning and classless actions. Plus, I don't know if you want the leader of your team and in many ways the face of your school having a total freaking meltdown over a punt interference call. Then instead of manning up and admitting things he could improve on, he blames everyone else. Weak. His brother, coach of the Ravens, was talking how his team just didn't get it done after a tough loss to the Titans. Maybe Jim should take some lessons from big brother. I think right now he feels, and he is correct, that he is a little fish in a big pond with alot of big hungry fish and he almost has to be on the edge of desperation to get some big wins... Guest pman85
One question I have: was that interference really a bad call? I thought the ball hit the cover man on the fly. If that's the case, then Stanford can't recover it, so certainly he has no complaint regarding the turnover. In addition, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that interference is the correct call in a situation like that where the ball hits the cover man while the receiver is standing in front of him without a chance to catch it. The fact that Allen also got bumped by one of our guys woudl seem to be just an unrelated coincidence and not necessarily what drew the attention of the referees.
